How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

People on here are very quick to condemn and to be judge and jury before a person has been given the opportunity to prove himself otherwise.

You can only judge what will happen only after negotiations commence. Then we will see who is being true to their word or not. We will see who is willing to be reasonable or not. We will see who is going to compromise.

Papadopoulos so far has been largely right in how events would unfold. Everyone was quick to condemn Papadopoulos after the referendum and to say that it was our last chance. It was clearly not. We were being told that Cyprus was to be left at the fringes of the EU as a pariah state. Clearly we have not been. If anything we have been right in the middle of things since May of last year. We were told that nobody would take us seriously anymore and that we would not be trusted. Clearly that is not the case. Annan said that he would not attempt another mssion in Cyprus unless Papadopoulos clearly stated what he wanted changed in his plan and that he would arbitrate again. Clearly this has not happened. Many things were said to be happening but haven't.

Like I have said before, until talks begin we might as well be talking about the weather!

Talking about the weather again!

All I have to say is don't underestimate the man. We will soon find out what he really stands for. Until then there is little point in making wild assumptions on what you think he has done in the past and what you think he will do in the future.

What right does this bloke have to try and limit the legal rights of the refugees?

He has no right in law.

"it creates tension"...No shit sherlock...thats what litigation does. The ongoing avoidance of the concerns of the 200,000 refugees (plus decendants) is not going to relieve "tension".

Before negotiations even begin:

1) UN resolutions calling on the withdrawal of Turkish troops and return of all refugees MUST be enforced;or

2) ECHR Judgements will be enforced/executed;

At this point in time Turkcyp it does not matter if the TCs will accept it! What matters today is what others think should be accepted, and what others will do to the one who does not accept.

And if you think is a dream for the GCs to demand their most basic human rights like freedom of movement, freedom of settlement and freedom of owning and enjoying their own properties in their own Country, then I think that is you who is dreaming.
On the other hand if you think that even if these rights are given to the GCs then they will all return then again you are dreaming. The GCs just want their rights. Like I have every right to go live in Paphos, but I don't think I will ever do so in my lifetime.

Again Turkcyp, just think of the possibility that it is not really the GCs who live in a dream but maybe the TCs!
