I am from Kophinou, I know all about the “bravado” of your murdering “heros”.

It’s funny you say that because Kophinou is infamous for a specific Turkish Cypriot TMT thug who was put in charge there and stood out for his overall brutality and tendency to also harass TC women… only to be killed by the Kophinou TCs themselves!

The Turk-TCs were armed, and licensed to kill GCs, by the Brits who employed them.

Not only were the traitor Turk-TCs employed by the Brits to cause unrest wherever/whenever possible ... the very fact that an effective police-force ceased to exist for genuine civil cases, threw the country into near unruly chaos.

Imagine the ordinary GC civilian, without a police-force to turn to for general matters; let alone the danger of actually encountering one of these armed, licensed killers.

Those were dark, sad, satanic times for GCs ... Only EOKA gave hope for an end to this slavery.

Any uniformed Colonialist thugs could enter and search your home at all hours of the day or night ... cause injury and threats, even steal ... and then there was no friendly policeman to complain to ... just more paid uniformed thug TCs.

He then rounded up women and children into a hall and had his soldiers pour petrol all around that hall. He only stopped when Makarios was told by Ankara that if Grivas did not withdraw at once Turkey would attack…………………

The killed man was a Turkish Officer. Killed on the orders of the TMT leader by my classmate. Esaped from the island through Limassol.
He would constantly pester the local women and the TMT decided enough was enough.
