EOKA...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

the reason i choose that terminology, is that i believe those of turkish ethnicity living in Greece are pref
erred to be known by the Greek authorities as Greek Muslims. At least that is my understanding.

Fair enough. But don't forget, Cyprus is an independent country. Different rules should apply suited to its unique situation.

Hi Cypriot

agreed but Cyprus was not an independant country then. Nor was it fighting for such.

Yeap, with his pants right down his knees. I mean one way of defining peace has to do with the masochistic injustice you are willing to endure.

Not sure this is related to me but, if it is, I'm not willing to accept one tiny iota of injustice - masochistic or otherwise - so you must be confusing me with another yousou-fuki-fuki. I'll endure it for aeons though till justice is done. It's the Cypriot way, unfortunately.

And my vraga stays right where it is thank you very much. I prefer it to your foustanella, if that's OK.

Ireally don't know which outher yousoufaki you are talking about, I can't tell one from another. In any case, we apparently draw from totally different Cypriot traditions, yours from one of aeons of submission and subdujaction, mine from those for fought from the Ionian revolt, right through the Akrites and then to the Filiki of 1821, the revolutionaris of 1931, EOKA and the Ochi of 2004.

As for the vraka, it's just as Greek as the Foustanela, even Miaoulis used to wear one, the issue is not the garment you wear but what's inside.

Certainly not submission. Aeons of subjugation, yes. Care to tell me how you avoided subjugation? Unless your tradition isn't from Cyprus; or Greece for that matter.

What a little hero! Like Byron!

I don't think the Vraga is unique to either Cyprus or Greece. (My vraga is definitely Cypriot though and everyone knows what's inside... which is why it dangles so low). BTW, the term vraga is derived from the Latin 'braca' meaning breeches, so it's likely Venetian in origin.
