Also, let me ask you one more question: When the Turks were declaring Asia Minor as being "Turkey" did they have the right to do it? Did they take the approval of the 20% Kurds and the Greek and other minorities in order to do so? Was it a crime declaring Asia Minor as Turkey without the prior approval of the minorities? Cyprus was under the British and the Ottoman empires against the will of the overwhelming majority of the Cypriot people for centuries. You never complained about this. Yet, you believe it was a crime that the Cypriot people themselves wanted to be part of a free Greek state like it happened with most other Greek islands? Why?

i really dont know took the first shot. i wasnt there, where you? However if it was a tc, then he or she did so because s/he did not wish to become a Greek or Cypriot muslim anymore than you would wish to br a Christian Turk..............How would you react to being ruled by Ankara?...........

Oh and if Eoka had fought solely for independence they would have encountered less opposition from tcs.............EOKA did not fight for independence, their slogan was ENOSIS. What does ENOSIS mean Piratis.

As for Turkeys right to claim Asia Minor..............

Did The Europeans have the right to claim the entire American continent, or Australia for that matter?.................So if your saying Turkey has no right to exist you must say that America, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Canada, Australia, New Zealand have no right to exist. So what is the answer. Everyone back to 16th Century? is that what youre saying? Well why stop there? Why dont we all just lose our arms and legs and crawl back into the ponds from which we emerged?

Hi hasanaggi. Why do you equate 'Cypriot Muslim' to 'Christian Turk'? The equivalent of 'Cypriot Muslim' is 'Cypriot Christian'; or more accurately 'of Christian extraction' or 'of Muslim extraction'. I think it's fair to say that most Cypriots these days are not overly preoccupied and certainly wouldn't want to be defined by their religious heritage.

Yes EOKA did fight for ENOSIS, because an overwhelming majority of the population of Cyprus at the time were in favor of ENOSIS...and by any and all natural laws of the universe they had that god given right to fight for ENOSIS, no where in EOKAS charter was there a call to kill TUrk cyps....

Were EOKA a bunch of terrorist thugs..? Or were they heroes that need to be looked up to..?

I have brought this subject up on many occasions over the past 20 years with various GC's. I have been told that the majority of Cypriots disagreed with EOKA and their methods....

Birds of a feather flocking together and all, this makes Connor a piece of shit (meaning that only a piece of shit could claim that the majority of Cypriots disagreed with EOKA and that Connor is a piece of shit).

Actually, EOKA and the Enosis movement do have to answer to history but only because of their failure (or to put it in another way the only mistake of the Enosis movement was that it failed).

Ok so EOKA were not fighting for independence, They were fighting for union with Greece....established.

i can buy into the fact that Enosis did not say kill turk.

Can you not understand that turks did not want that, anymore than you would have wanted union with Turkey? In fact you would fight with your lives to avoid that, wouldn't you? So why is it that turkish cypriots should feel any different to you?

Hi Cypriot

the reason i choose that terminology, is that i believe those of turkish ethnicity living in Greece are pref
erred to be known by the Greek authorities as Greek Muslims. At least that is my understanding.

Yeap, with his pants right down his knees. I mean one way of defining peace has to do with the masochistic injustice you are willing to endure.
