My apologies Bir for calling TCs traitors to their country.

I apologise because this is in fact completely untrue.

TCs are not traitors to their country. They have always proven themselves to be loyal to Turkey, so off course they can not be traitors to their country.

They have proven their loyalty to Turkey on several occasions, such as:
1) Forming TMT and being the first to commit inter communal violence against the GCs,
2) Withdrawing from government in 1963 and promoting TAKSIM,
3) Aiding and abetting the Turkish Invasion and occupation.

The only individuals that can be labelled traitors, are EOKA B and those involved in the Greek Coup against Makarios. TCs do not qualify as traitors to Cyprus I am afraid!

The rest of your post above is truly appreciated and respected. I appreciate the fact that you recognise that GCs suffered and the hands of the Turks, and that you also express sympathy.

Also note, that "racist" is another label used a little too loosely on this forum. I believe that only 1 member is deserving of this label, and he is not a GC or TC. I think most of you will know who I am referring to.

Sarcasm, they say,is the lowest form of wit....
Congratulations, countryman, for I am a paphidis as well...My alligence is to Cyprus above all else...I agree that we often too easily throw around the word racist...That does not mean there are no racists on this Forum...I can think of more than one,but we won't go there...Suffice to say I don't think you are a racist...You are just brainwashed like most of our compatriots...You owe it to yourself to look at our sad history objectively, and see if you can find some fault with your side as well...That would be a good start... 8)

Have a another read of my previous posts, and you will see that I have conceded faults from my side, frequently.

I consider my approach to be objective. The facts still remain. The TCs have never united with their GC brothers. The TCs have always worked to undermine the GCs, from 1950s and to the present day.

Fine...Now go and find out why they did not unite with their GC brothers all through those terribly dark times......Why it was impossible ...And please come and tell us all... 8)

Would that be Enosis? From day one on that fateful day in 1878 when the Brits first landed in Cyprus? :?:

Was it because of the British "Divide and Rule" and your objective of TAKSIM? Was that not the objective of TMT and most if not all TCs.

Why did TMT bomb the Turkish Embassy?

Why did the TCs ignore the plea from Grivas to unite against the British yoke?

Oh please, educate me!

Would that be Enosis? From day one on that fateful day in 1878 when the Brits first landed in Cyprus? :?:

When Disraeli acquired Cyprus from Turkey in 1878, the islands Greek Christian majority believed that the traditionally pro-Greek British would grant them Enosis - union -with Greece. But the presence of a Turkish Muslim minority, bitterly opposed to Greek rule, and the demands of British imperial strategy frustrated their hopes. Three quarters of a century later, British ministers insisted in a parliamentary debate that the island could never expect full independence. Greek Cypriots reacted by launching a savage guerrilla campaign. This led to independence - but also to civil war and continuing strife between the islands two communities.

That is all well and good if the TCs never withdrew from Government in 63, and negotiated with the GCs about the 13 point plan to reform the constitution. I am sure that it could have been worked out, but the TCs did not want this and proceeded with their sole objective of TAKSIM.

Why did the TCs bomb The Turkish Embassy?

Why did the Turkish Occupation continue despite the GCs offering a complete return to the 1960 Zurich Constitution during negotiations between the first and second Turkish Invasion?

Turkey had an opportunity to take the moral high ground if they allowed the restoration of the 1960 state of affairs. This was also Turkey's obligation under the Treaty of Guarantee. But this was not the objective. The objective was permanent TAKSIM.
