I am afraid that VP, ZAN, GR, BIGOz, Nikitas, Halil, Piratis, and Kifeas have all been wasting their time discussing the intricacies of the Cyprus problem, because all along the answer was right in front of their very nose. The "real" culprits to the 34 year occupation are in actual fact, the British.

I'll give you all a simple analogy, lets say a parent (UK) has one sweet, and tells his/her kids (greece and turkey) im going now but i am going to leave this one sweet on the table for you two to share.................

Cyprus was never left for Greece and Turkey to share. We are our own nation now, and we do not need any interferance from any foreign power (Greece, Turkey, USA or UK).

The U.K. has never had any intention of interfering in Cyprus' internal affairs since Cyprus became independent.I'm sure that both Cyprus & Great Britain can be friends,not enemies.

you wanted independence in cyprus and the british gave it to you. then you f-----d it up. why blame the brits for your own mistakes?you still have the same stupid racist hatred of each other today. you now have the chance to move forward, but guess what ?you will probably f--k it up again, as in 2004. there is no helping some people.
those who like to blame the british for all of cyprus's problems should go back to riding donkeys and picking veg in the fields bare foot.
you don't mind coming to the uk for education, health care, housing,a giro, work ect,ect.

throughout time all countries and races have made mistakes, most of those countries and races have learnt lessons from them and they will never repeat them. unlike you cypriots.

For those that are under the illusion that Britain is not to blame for the present situation in Cyprus, should view the following 3 videos.

They document very clearly the "Divide and Rule" policy inflicted upon the Cypriots which commenced the downward spiral to "Intercommunal Violence", Constitutional Instability over the imposed Zurich Agreements, atrocities from both sides, ultra nationalism from both sides, partition of the 2 communities, The Greek Coup D'etat, and finally, The Turkish Invasion in 1974.

Video 2 clearly outlines Britain's policy of supporting TAKSIM. Maps were already drawn by the British for the permanent partition of Cyprus.

So yes, BRITAIN IS GUILTY!

Of all the stupid and ignorant remarks I have ever heard or read this must be the worst. Anyone with any intelligence knows that HM The Queen has no direct influence on the policies of the British Government, I can only assume that these postings are from some demented idiot who knows nothing about the British Constitution and merely wishes to gratuitously insult the many brits upon whose residence in Cyprus the island depends eonomically.
