Turkish Generals arrived CY from L/ca airport

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Turkish Generals arrived CY from L/ca airport

Postby RAFAELLA » Fri May 13, 2005 9:41 am

Two turkish generals arrived in Cyprus from Larnaca airport on Wednesday. They were given visas on their arrival and they entered CY Republic legally.
They came for a conference with other EU Generals (if I got this information right). The conference is hosted by CY Republic.
That was in the news last night from Mega tv chanel.

If that's not an official recognition then what can it be called?

The US congresmman Robert Wexler will visit TRNC through Ercan airport which will indicate a wind of change for isolation of Turkish Cypriots.

The news was confirmed by Cyprus News Agency.

The one that Rafaella has to be false!! lol

serious...how can that be?

1. How can RoC let in generals from a country that is occupying there land???

2. I thought Turkey did not recognise RoC? but they let two of there generals visit for a convention????

As for the Garbitch one, well i've never seen America as allies of Cyprus...but even if they semi-recognise 'TRNC'...it wont be for long...because the way thigns are going and everyone is pushing for unification, there wont be a 'TRNC' for long.

Dude, you missed an 's' there (it's Garbitsch, not Garbitch). I know it wasn't intentional, but it looks bad. I'd fix it if I were you.

Grr he's been always doing that :D

BTW, Rafaella, individuals visiting countries do not make it officially recognised. Some US officials had already visited TRNC via Ercan but this doesn't mean any kind of recognition.

Main_Source, I hope what you are saying will happen soon, so that there won't be any TRNC or Greek Administration of Cyprus. But your president keeps saying that the negotiations will not start even after November. You and other G.Cs should push your president to sit down and negotiate. It not all upto Turkish side to solve the problem.

Tassos will not sit and negotiate like a man of peace, he does not want to lose the power he has and been waiting for nearly 40 years.

The whole point of having a Cyprus government is not that it is a Greek administration..but a Cypriot one. It doesn't mean I think that the reperesentation of GC and TC should be split 50/50, because it doesnt make sense that a 1 TC shjould have as much power as say 4 GC...it also brings the issue of the smaller minorities, should they be given an equal representation through numbers in grovernment?. That would mean that GC have 33.3%, TC have 33.3% and Maronites have 33.3%..but GC make up 80% of population, TC make up 18% and Maronites make up 1%...thats silly.

Thje way I see it is that Tasos wants to talk within official meetings and not just suggestions about the plan casually mentioned. Give him the official negotiation meetings, so no two sides can stall...and if he still delays things...then yeah, he needs to go...but after hearing the issues on the previous Annan plan, I have trust in him because he was right to tell us to say no.

Still you are not getting the bigger picture even though what you say makes sense, tassos has been asked constantly to say in writing what he wants for the gc people so negotiations can commence but he still refrains from doing anything and has even lied and was embaressed by the SG who openly said he was full of crap.

This guy has so far done nothing to encourage the unification of our island but instead has constantly given it heavy blows due to his remarks and actions.
