A straight forward translation of meraklis is a connoisseur , an authority normally recognised for a lover and a knowledgeable wine buff, something that Zan wouldnt have a clue !!
However the colloquial meaning of meraklis in Cypriot is a man , mostly , who loves his meze , his drink , his car his cloths and generally any of his activities. He is also considered a nice company to be with , a jovial character who likes to be around people , in short anyone who is passionate about all that he does , so Zan is a HATE meraklis , or bluntly put a bullshitter meraklis !!
The same would be applicable to the so called Paphitis and the other piss pot whose name I forget .
