Ferry to Syria Latakia

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Postby Selena79 » Wed Sep 10, 2008 4:57 pm

i would. but according to my knowledge there is no ferry between limassol and syria
second: the only possibility to solve the cyprus problem is having open minded Cypriots who actually know what is on the other side and not just talk about it endless... and people who can leave their emotions at home when trying to solve the problem.
and please explain me what does "respect the sovereignty of EU territory" mean and what the hell does it have to do with catching a stupid ferry????
i think Cypriots should start respect their own country with not washing their car every week when we dont have water to drink, and not playing casino on the otherside. when they all do that, I will promise to catch the ferry from this side. Till then, no Cypriot guy should ever tell me anything about the other side....

Wow, that's livened it up a little. Try flying Larnaca-Damascus (Cyprus Airways), then jump in a taxi to Allepo. Great place, lovely people.

Slightly off topic, but do you know if Syria has any restrictions on visitors who have Israeli stamps in their (British)passport?

Good question. Seven years ago I had an Israeli stamp in my passport and was not refused entry. Since then I have visited Syria 4 times albeit with a new passport and no Israeli stamped visas.
I would check with the Syrian authorites, but I would not envisage a problem.

Tks for that! Still kicking myself for not getting them to stamp the bit of paper instead...

Well, if you want to come back to Cyprus - you can always take the mini-cruise operated by Louis Cruise Lines from Limassol new port into Latakia. There's a sailing on 24 October going into Lebanon first, then Syria and arriving back to Limassol on 27 October :-)
