How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Zan ... I'm not minimising any of this ... but that was the only highly credible source I could find on this matter, and that's what it quotes!

It was there with the quote ....

The Telegraph April 2008 wrote: ..... Five hundred Turkish Cypriots are regarded as missing from 1963, 1967 and 1974, though this number includes those killed in the aforementioned massacres. Rape of Turkish Cypriot women was isolated. Turkish Cypriot journalist Sevgul Uludag in her book on massacres and mass graves in Cyprus, mentions one case of rape against a Turkish Cypriot woman. Forty thousand Turkish Cypriots one-third of their population moved to the north of the island after 1974; but this was at the behest of Turkey, which now wanted to consolidate the Turkish Cypriot puppet state it was planning to establish in the occupied areas.

You'd make yourself look silly if you dispute that ... you do have Sevgul Uludag's book don't you?

So are you disputing that a quote combining a respectable UK newspaper, with a quote from the book of an award winning TC journalist mentioning a TC situation, is not credible evidence?

That's the last time I do you TCs a favour and post TC evidence of GC bad-doings ( although it didn't say the crime was committed by a GC :? ) ... get your own!

Just read this , I like the bid about the butchering and massacres committed by G/Cs as early as 1912 !!
What dangerous rubbish !!
Here it is :
"Turkey is not invading Northern Cyprus
Turkey's military intervention in 1974 is not an attempt to gain more territory or invasion.

If Turkey didn't act in 1974, the island would be united with Greece as result of a coup and there wouldn't left a single Turkish Cypriot alive in the hands of Greeks.

Greek Cypriots, with Greece's support, butchered and massacred Turkish Cypriots starting from 1912. Greek Cypriots founded a terrorist organization called EOKA, to realize their dreams of ENOSIS (union with Greece).

Now you all know Zans' source of info !!!

I think Zan's improved himself. His sources used to be www.greekmurderers.net until they screwed up with a map and thats were Zan lost all faith in them. 8)

Bizzare it may sound i think Greece and Cyprus were the real winners of the 1974 invasion because both got rid of the monarcho-fascist pillars that held our countries and our peoples hostages since WW2.

The palace, the intervening army, the intervening church, rigged elections, EOKA B, Grivas, Sampson all these were the offsprings of the undemocratic climate that culminated after the civil war.If still around our democracy would be handicapped, we would have too generals speaking about politics and our ethnikophrones-kemalists determining what is right or wrong.

The 1974 defeat brought this rotten regime to both Greece and Cyprus down.Political freedom was followed by economic prosperity integrated into EU and other important institutions and from a pariah we emerged as highly respectable countries.

At the same time the win enabled turkey's own undemocratic regime to stay till nowadays and probably even further a country with a big size but a very small stature in all international institutions with it's people living in poverty and oppression.TRNC is a pariah surviving only because of the help of Turkey with TC not having control over their own matters in striking contrast with GC.

Just think about that.Turkey gained a piece of arid land and the ever continuation of it's military monolithic grip on power while Greece and Cyprus got democracy and economic prosperity.

Just sit and think a bit about that.
