The 'lobsters' do tend to be the Brits! I have seen many suffer after they have overdone it on their first day of holiday! A tan at whatever cost.

Yes paliometoxo, I am British (English) but I am and always have been very sensible in the sun, even more so since moving to Cyprus. On my first few visits back home some people refused to believe that I lived here as I was not 'tanned' enough.

Besides, who wants extra wrinkles I ask you!?

I can just about survive the CY heat in the summer without needing hospitalisation providing we spend the day staying no more than ten feet from the sea where you get that day long sea breeze blowing onshore cooling things down.

Worst place to be - Nicosia which as PalioM and others will know is totally unbearably hot during the day but once evening approaches you get that lovely cooling and sometimes quite strong breeze coming down from the mountains for a few hours.

I live in Newcastle and it rained non-stop for 2 days. I love being in Cyprus guaranteed perfect weather nearly all time time.

I never sunbathe, when I do venture in the sun either walking or swimming I wear appropriate clothing. I have always found a good Scottish Tweed suit and flat cap keep the sun at bay.

I wonder what part of Europe is experiencing perfect weather conditions ... if the most Westerly (UK) is so wet and the most Easterly (Greece/Cyprus) is so dry ... somewhere across the great divide is the perfect equilibrium between sun and rain .....

You are making me feel jealous! :(

Seriously though, I hope all is okay; I keep hearing about the 'flood alerts' on the news :(
