Assuming these talks result in the unification of Cyprus (hypothetically), do you believe Cyprus and Greece would still try to derail Turkey's efforts to join the EU???
Keeping in mind that if Turkey were to become a member, its citizens will be able to travel, and live/work in Cyprus.
Lets forget the political answers and be as honest as possible.

Cem, there is no problem with TCs that live abroad returning to Cyprus after a solution. We have many times more GCs that live abroad and they could return too, especially if they can return to their own homes. There are over 200.000 GCs in London area alone.

I doubt that Cyprus will be attractive to Turks that are citizens of other European countries. A few can come, but don't expect any mass movement. Cyprus has high standards but not as high as Germany or some other countries that those Turks went. If they wanted to come to Cyprus using their EU member state citizenship they could have done so since 2004. So I don't worry about them.

As for your second remark, I....don't agree.. Why ? Because, you wouldn't expect any turk-regardless of his/her citizenship- to come to settle in a country with which Turkey has still a state of cease fire-if not a war, would you? (even after 2004)
What kind of reception the GCs would have shown to him/her, do you think?
I mean, maybe the government officials, keen to comply with EU rules, would have reluctantly given him/her a business license, but what about the greek cypriot people themselves, the average guy on street ?

Anyway, the essence of my post has been to emphasize the role of EU in enforcing tolerance on two communities, should they fail to implement it by themselves.
