While Christofias spoke of a united country, a solution for Cypriots and not for foreigners, a chance for the 2 to compromise Talat's opening speech made NO mention of a federal state but of 2 states, of a need to maintain the Treaty of gaurantee, and of the need to maintain and satisfy the balance of power of our two motherlands in Cyprus.
It would have been good if he had mentioned at least 1 thing for the Cypriots.
He did not even say he wants a BBF, just 2 constituent states that belong to a what? A kebab? a confederation? a prickly pear? a federation maybe Mr Talat?
News over here speak of the utter dissapointment of Christofias on listening to Talat's opening speech and his anger at the steps back he's taken after his latest Ankara trip.
Halil, take to the streets and demonstrate against Talat. Ask for a leader with some Cojonas.[/b]
DT .
from begining of the talks Talat and TC's pointed out always same demands .u can search from the Forum how many times i was posted here TC's red lines .Nothing to do with talat Ankara last trip .
What the majority of the TC's wants and Talat have to follow their desires other wise he can not get support from TC's DT .
Don't forget TC's majorities said yes to Annan Plan , TC's will not go behind the plan .
No need for me for demonstration against Talat .This is my personal idea. There will be some groups in TC's against him .less than 1 % .
From yesterday meeting I understood that very soon talks will collapsed .
two sides are far away from each other . We will see .
Last night Talat has made speech from the Bayrak Tv to TC's and clearly he said :
basic structure which will have a Turkish Cypriot State and Greek Cypriot State as constituent states with equal status but single identity for all sides .Continuation of the 1960 Treaties of Guarantee and of Alliance as an essential part of a settlement; safeguards to ensure that neither side can claim jurisdiction over the other; and maintaining the internal balance between the two sides in Cyprus as well as the external balance between Greece and Turkey over Cyprus, as elements they attach great importance.
