Sometimes we have to agree to disagree...But there is one thing which we agree on : Cypriots must put their Cypriotness above all other consideration,wanting to be masters of their own fate,in their own Unified country as one people,one nation...Oh,and the belief that you cannot achieve "peace" by preparing or mongering for war...You achieve peace by building (however slowly) trust,understanding and respect,not by racist and bigotted attacks on each other...

True Cypriots acknowledge every one's fundamental right to express themselves freely and showcase their own pride in their heritage, be it Greek or Turkish. The title does not belong to you, Miltiades or GR! and his Choirokitia allegiance whilst discounting others as they identify with their Hellenic or Ottoman culture. IMHO

This is a pathetic attempt at censorship of free expression, and anyone who partakes in this stupid ideology needs to take a really good look at themselves and reflect. You need to accept more diversity and not inhibit and segregate the community with such silly labels, as it borders with racism and is not an endearing human quality in this day and age.

Fair enough. You have my sincere respect and sorrow if your sense of belonging was violated. In fact, all those that were violated have my deepest sympathies.

It is Turkey that is prolonging the pain of 200,000 GC refugees and however many TCs. You can blame our side for the coup all you like, but the fact remains that the violations against both TCs and GCs is still occuring after 34 years of partition and occupation.

My sense of belonging was violated well before the coup,Paphidi...
Even before 1963...From mid 50s onwards,when we were not allowed to be who we were,Cypriots,but were made rudely aware of our ethnic and religous affiliations...Our sense of self and belonging were torn apart by the fanatic nationalists on both sides,egged on by our then rulers and occupiers...Blaming each other is pointless now. We need to understand each other,show empathy and compassion...Our pain and suffering will not end otherwise...
