I had hoped the local environment agency would have removed the majority, but as a local explained where do you put them !

Did you take any pictures please purdey? A sorry state of affairs indeed! :(

I am afraid cameras and me don't go. Maybe you could oblige if you visit. You can drive right down to the dam wall now. If you have free time try the Meze at the Kouris taverna on the way back, good local food.

We made a point of visiting several dams last month and we saw Yermasogeia as pictured above. Also visited Lymbia Dam (or Lake) -very saddened to see not a drop of water in it - just a little patch of green grass in the middle. Lefkara Dam similarly practically empty. The Dam near Macheras Monastery - very little water. Had a good look at the Dam at Kalopanayiotis, which being high up we expected to find water, but again very, very little and that little an unhealthy green colour.

(They will all need major fish re-stocking.)

Hope it rains this Winter.

Very upsetting to see all the dead fish grounded, and even more upsetting to see the night time so called fishermen pulling them out of the water that is left.

I have not been over to Kouris dam for a while now, I may have a drive over one day this week and see for myself! :(

Best if you don't add to the Carbon Footprint with greenhouse gasses for unnecessary trips .....

Of course. The meze sounds good to me! :) Do I get a discount if I mention your name - or will it be double?

Morning! I'll walk to the dam and back if you promise to walk back from Nicosia!
I will take my step-ometer too; it is quite a hike!
