The name of this dialect is called Cypriot lol.

...also, it's a very similar dialect to 90% of the Greek islands.

Actually the only dialect I've enoucntered to be similar is the Cretan one. I think they're the only ones who have kept it since Crete is the only Greek island to have been an independent state for a whole 8 years. Their dialect though is slowly fading away as the older generations pass away.

The Ioanian islands' dialect have/had a more Italian tone to it and I've never heard any native from the Cyclades speak in a differenct dialect. i'm not sure who the dodecanese/aegean islands are since they are much closer to Turkey (as is Cyprus)...

go to Rhodes, Ikaria, etc...the dialect is a lot more similar to Cypriot than mainland Greece. The Greek Cypriot culture in general is very similar to a lot of the Greek islands than the mainland.

Could this be because of the very close proximity of Turkey and therefore some Turkish Influence ?

thats probably one of the reasons. the modern greek language in general has many turkish words and customs due to the almost 400 year ottoman occupation.

also the islands cohabited with turks for a much longer time than the mainland which was freed around 1830 (the dodecanese islands such as rhodes and chios didnt become part of the hellenic republic until after WWII )

most islands have been conquered by so many places though that you can find numerous dialect influences. this also goes for the turkish speaking people of these areas and their respective turkish dialect.
