True colours of the Attila

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby humanist » Tue Sep 02, 2008 11:18 am

VP other than you, no one has put that forth as a solution. Why is that? How come Talat has not spoken of partition based on 29%. But please explain to me why 29% if your population is now less than 10% of the Cypriot population.

You might as well ask why the Duke of Westminster owns real property in the UK whose value exceeds three billion pounds, even though he represents about one sixty millionth of the population of the UK.

Because he inherited it. Did the TC's inherit 1/3 of the island?

He inherited it ... but from a long lineage that stretches back to the Normans who took the land by military force from the Anglo Saxons in 1066, so perhaps it is not such a bad analogy after all.

Yes Tim, lets just get out the family tree as well shall we. You want to go back 1800+years and come here to day and say well thatsm ok then.

Turkey invaded us just a mere 34 years ago and we are held at gun point, please do not compare the two, otherwise I might just claim that Turkey belongs to greece since Alexander the Great was there, how many years ago !!!

The point I really want to make is that, in principle, I would like to live in a world in which there was a more equitable distribution of property. Putting that to one side, the only solution to the Cyprus problem that I could describe as equitable is one that upholds the rule of law. This means that title to real property as recorded in the RoC land registry must be upheld. Any discussion about who is entitled to what based on population figures obfuscates the issue.

29 per cent because it is the proportion which the Tcs are holding now if you subtract the Green Line from 37 per cent. It is in fact a zero concession policy. Another bazaar trick where the seller tells you that if you agree to the price you can have a free paper bag.

But even if we agree to this outrageous proportion there is the question of how far we will be left alone by Turkey. Do not count on Turkey not making claims on the continental shelf of the south, or the EEZ which stretches half way to Egypt. The Turks do not respect international law and fences with neighbors. They will push as far as they are allowed to gain the biggest cost free share.

And then you have people like halil taliking about those people? Referring excactly to whom halili those people that your community leadership and occupiers have kept away from their homes and country, those people that you want out of their homes so that you can build one. If that is fairness then the fuck with it all why would I want to share a neighbourhood with you, Zan or VP. You have a blinded GC Bananiot pushing your trolley as you have siught an ally in the Irish cheeck and you are calling for peace at the same time excluding people from their nation. Where is your patritism halil and friends? I wonder if omeone rich enough ever build you an Island beween Cyprus and Turkey would you call it your own ? because it sure as hell indicates to me that you have no allegiance to Cyprus.

Not the GC Cyprus called the "RoC" we were kicked out of that 45 years ago and our rights stolen and exploited by guess who?

by turkey.... no one forced turkey to invade you peple did it all on your own and proclaimed a trnc.. you have no one to blame but yourselvs...

even now turkey is trying to take more and mroe and give nothing back.. its all take with you turks, if your unhappy go back to turkey. trnc depends on turkey for EVERYTHING whats the point on you "tcs" being in cyprus? there are more turks from turkey in the edn the north will just be turkey number 2 with no tcs left, you tcs are minorities in your own "country" with no say at what will happen, mamma turkey has ALL the say and there is nothing you people can do about it.

its TMTs fault for starting the war by bombing turkish cypriots in cyprus to make you think it was us that did it... you expect eoka to sit and do nothign when you steal and break shops and houses for no reason? for something TMT did to start fights and have an excuse to invade and steal our land??? you turks arew barbarians..

i hope there is partition then that line will be taken down to lower then 30% lets see all the turks living in the north squashed into a tiny part of the island..

Better the Turks than the GCs, 29% is acceptable to us you are the ones having problems accepting agreed partition.

But the proposals put forward as a BBF solution already requires that you pull back to 29%. Why would we accept permanent partition with a 29/71 split? :? That just is not attractive enough for us to even contemplate permanent partition as a solution option.

Surely, in order to make it more attractive, so that GCs can even dwell upon permanent partition as a potential solution scenario, you would need to offer much more land. Atleast pulling back to 24%, if not 20%!
