Well don’t bother sending yours – they demand literacy and numeracy…

Not scared of competition are you?

Don't worry, I won't be applying - I will be your first really awkward customer!

That's my middle initial...The (PR) Saint.

At the Lagoon they had the usual good stuff, spagetti, curry, home made pies, home made pizza, snacks, sandwiches. Italian food, greek food, steaks, burgers, mexican food, Sunday lunch.

Not to mention the usual breakfast and stuff with chips etc.

Then there'll be the "specials" board with any good interesting stuff that Kelvin has been able to get his hands on that day.

They expect to do much the same now they're Dillon's. They were always complemented on the quality, quantity and value of their food.

To get a real idea you'll need to drop in and check out the menu. They'll be pleased to see you even if you're just checking it out.

They had a good number of regulars and many of the tourists went there night after night for the whole holiday - others, who only found them on their last night said they wished they'd know about them sooner.

It's an easy sell really because Kelvin's passion is cooking and he tries to give people something special.

His food is always tasty.

Gosh, I'm getting peckish now. I'm looking forward to getting over to Cyprus again and eating there myself...

Keith,
Did you know that Gordon Ramsay turned around a restaurant called Dillon's? Well, that kitchen nightmare was a shithole that was 2 blocks away from the London, which is Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in New York City,America.

The restaurant in question has got a new name - Purnima. It is now a very successful Indian restaurant right in the heart of New York City.

You can find some episodes of 'Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares' & 'Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares U.S.A.' up on http://www.youtube.com .

Hi Aidan,

Yes, I saw that one - although I didn't remember it was called Dillon's.

I'm the equivalent of Gordon Ramsay in this scenario.

Hannah and Kelvin won't need the sort of kicking Ramsay gives as they're very clean and their cooking is great.

We do actuially intend to change the name of the restaurant for next season anyway - just to give a completely new feel for the place.

Can't do it yet though as we nend to get in and start working first.

Right now we just need to get people to give it a try.

Hope to see you there sometime.

Our daughter and her fiance were running The Lagoon in Kato Paphos for a little under a year. We were looking to maybe buy it but eventually we decided that it wasn't in the best position for the tourists and it relied pretty much 100% on tourism (which we all know is down in the toilet at the moment).

We saw Dillons and liked the premises and position. It has fewer tourists than Kato Paphos but also has less competition.

On the other hand it's closer to Pegeia and Chlorakas, where there was a better chance of ex-pat customers. So we're hoping that it will fair better.

The main thing is that we want to offer something a little different. Not just the same kind of restaurant as so many others are.

We hope to offer good quality food without the customer spending a fortune but for the reastaurant to have a comfortable, sophisticated ambience.

The Dillon's premises lends itself well to what we want to achieve.

In the new year we plan to change the name to CAFE BLUE EYES and we want to have the feel of the kind of place Sinatra might go to.

So, in our eyes, the actual location was not bad as we want it to be a place where people will want to go to.

Does that answer your question? Or have I bladdered on and on?
