Assuming this to be so, exactly what do you think Britain could realistically do to make Turkey leave Cyprus?

they could do a lot... its simple.: president of uk tell the turks they have 24 hours to get the F off our land or they will invade north cy or turkey and FORCE them to leave... how about that?:D

It was intended as a stupid answer to observer's stupid question. But I suppose that was exactly what Britain did in Iraq (Baghdad and Basra etc) via the US ... so not so ridiculous if they really wanted to help us.

(Of course once Istanbul has been bombed and cleaned up ... we can re-build it as Constantinople once again ) ...

Halil, with the amount of countries and people that Turkey has made enemies of then they will need an SS the size of Ireland to keep tabs on everyone talking about bombs falling on turkey.
