Anorthosis Famagusta have become the first team from Cyprus to qualify for the prestigious Champions League group stages. The refugee club with a solid, determined performance in Athens had won 3-1 on aggregate despite losing 1-0 to Olympiacos.

Oh dear back to Athens. Will their supporters welcome their Greek brethren with open arms like Olympiakos. Loved the comment by the Anorthosis official saying their never experienced that kind of harrassment in Turkey when playing Trabzonspor. What did they expect in Greece and from Olympiakos? 3-0 down from the first leg after losing to a bunch of so called island bumpkins (though Anorthosis had the last laugh), millions at stake from the Champions League and their fans facing the humiliation of losing at home to a team who had never made to the group stages before. There appeared to be a lot of slagging off with Anorthosis out Greeking the Greeks on their home soul. We get it! Makes you wonder why the Greek Cypriots want Enosis, the Turkish Cypriots partition, whilst their so called motherlands think the islanders are country bumpkins. At the end of the day, Anorthosis are through on merit. Can you hear Olympiakos sing? No...ooo No...ooo. More of the same against Panithiakos if you please.
