Rednecks vs Ni***rs... so far there are more Rednecks... :D

---

personally, i dislike McCain, Obama looks more energetic and it looks like he will turn his course into internal affairs leaving his VP to do the dirty job outside :)

Personally I do not dislike Obama or McCain , I also think that Obama would make a good president , but somehow reality sets in and tells me that a substantial number of Democrats will not vote for him based purely on colour , the question is how substantial is this number . Commentators punters are putting out a figure of about 35% , if this was to be so McCain will win by a landslide . No one has yet come up with a figure as how many Republicans will vote for Obama. As far as I'm concerned the result of the USA election is a foregone conclusion.

Miltiades,

Let me remind you, that the US elections are fought, won and lost on individual states and not by who gets the most votes in the whole country. In another words, if a candidate wins key states that has enough Electoral College votes that will push it to 270 and over, the game is over, regardless of the overall vote by individuals. Both Gore and Kerry lost the elections by handful of Electoral College votes where one small state can change the whole election outcome.!

Im fully aware of the electoral system Kikapu , I still however believe that come the day John McCain will win hands down !!

Hands down.?? That implies a sweep Miltiades, and we haven't had any "sweeps" for a while. Ronald Regan did have one against Carter, and that was primarily because American Hostages kept for 444 days in Iran and the failed rescue attempt, that resulted deaths of American servicemen. Then Clinton against Dole for his second term, and that was before "Lewinsky Gate". Overall, in resent history, elections have been very close and they are not decided 2-3 months before it takes place. So what you get today will not be on election day. Keep an open mind Miltiades. Yes it is true, that racism does exists in the USA still, but even my ex girlfriend, a life long Republican will be voting for Obama. She said to me on the phone the other day, that her parents will most likely turn in their graves because of it.!!

As for these cry baby women who claim to be Democrats but will vote for McCain because Hillary did not make it, are bunch of closet Republicans. The whole thing is a con job by the Republicans to make believe that they are Democrats. True Democrats vote for what the party stands for, not go and vote for a party that is totally against what you believe in, which are the Republicans. Therefore, I do not buy these silly fool women that will switch sides if they are really Democrats, because in the end, it will be them who will lose, just like all the environmentalist that voted for Ralph Nader in 2000 and not for Gore, and look how much Bush did for the environment.

Kikapu , I have placed my self neither on McCains side nor Obamas. I simply follow the political developments and feel that the Americans will reject a black President for the simple reason that most do not view him as a "true " American . As brilliant as he obviously is , he is faced with the old prejudices that are still abound in the States as indeed in other Western nations .
I feel that McCain will sweep into the Oval office with a landslide .
Time will tell , mark this post we can come back to it in November !!
Again I say that the American people are simply not ready yet for a black familly in the Oval office .

I agree 100%, even if elected he will be shot dead within a short period of time just like the Kennedys. there was report in the newspapers today that a plot to assasinate Obama was uncovered.

No I do not love bloodshed.

Your Turko-Ottoman troops have shed too much Greek and Cypriot blood over the centuries. It seems the Turks do not possess blood themselves, they are so hungry for ours!

Boumboulia was a wealthy, sophisticated and powerful woman that fought for the independence of Greece from the Ottoman empire. A national hero to Greeks and not one that can be downgraded to simply a shedder of Turkish blood. I have heard many times from tc's that the Ottomans do not represent what Turkey is now and the one has little to do with the other. How can she have shed Turkish blood when there were no Turk then?
