Your have turned cynical humanist and this has blinded you to the fact that peace loving Turkish Cypriots are all for the opening of Limnitis. In fact the only people in Cyprus that are against the opening of gates are the nationalists on both sides who are againsts solution and thus they will do anything to poison the atmosphere a few days before the talks are scheduled to begin.

The Turks only want the road to open because it represents a gain for them. That's all their care about. If they were as 'caring and fair' as some would portray them then they would ask their government to open the road and let the people go to their church.

They were more than happy to send their busloads through and celebrate their 'victory' though.

They want the road to open because it makes things easier for them. However, when it comes to a simple goodwill gesture (ie returning the favour since the RoC is happy to let them pass through) they aren't so forthcoming. What does this prove? It proves that they are happy to take for themselves but will not support anything that might be seen as helping 'the Greeks', even if it just involves letting a group of people go to church on one day of the year.

What good will gesture......If it didn't suit the "RoC" in that it made them SEEM as if they were giving something, then they wouldn't have done it. They already know that the crossing cannot be open without furthwer talks so they stir things up....What a bloody great good will gesture...

Bananiot I have not turned anything my friend, the Turkish army has called the shot on it. I am prety sure the TC's who are genuine about unification might be against such decision but now they too have seen the true colours of their occupiers. Turkey is not going to let go of Cyprus no matter how loud 55,000 TC's yell, scream or shout. And they are shouting. Too late now they have tasted freedom and they are going to be marching many times however their ruller and our occupier has spoken.

The only way through any unifcation is one that does not involve Turkey just like we have chosen to walk away from Greece. I don't believe TC's or their leadershipo are ready for such step, and if ready they have the Turks to fair with. Good luck on that one. So they feed them propaganda to redivert hatred towards the GC's so that they have their heads quiet.

And I believe that if Talat deceives the Turks to secure unification in order to lead his people into a european nation he will be taken out by those generals in a spiffy.
