However, when it comes to a simple goodwill gesture (ie returning the favour since the RoC is happy to let them pass through) they aren't so forthcoming. What does this prove? It proves that they are happy to take for themselves but will not support anything that might be seen as helping 'the Greeks', even if it just involves letting a group of people go to church on one day of the year.

I am prety sure the TC's who are genuine about unification might be against such decision but now they too have seen the true colours of their occupiers. Turkey is not going to let go of Cyprus no matter how loud 55,000 TC's yell, scream or shout. And they are shouting. Too late now they have tasted freedom and they are going to be marching many times however their ruller and our occupier has spoken.
The only way through any unifcation is one that does not involve Turkey just like we have chosen to walk away from Greece. I don't believe TC's or their leadershipo are ready for such step, and if ready they have the Turks to fair with. Good luck on that one. So they feed them propaganda to redivert hatred towards the GC's so that they have their heads quiet.
And I believe that if Talat deceives the Turks to secure unification in order to lead his people into a european nation he will be taken out by those generals in a spiffy.
