'NORTH CYPRUS EXISTS RALLY'

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Main_Source » Mon Jul 04, 2005 10:39 pm

I know this was posted a while ago but if it was happening to the GCs ( Im not a simple hot-headed Turk who will degrade Greeks as i have befriended many) wouldnt they protest about it. I would like to add what happened in 1974 was a LIBERATION not an invasion remember there was a large threat to the Turkish Cypriots back then.

GC protest every year in the centre of London...like so many other protests do...they dont purposely protest in an area where the issue is very sensitive. As for 'Liberation'...well, if stealing the homes of 200,000 people is a liberation to you...I wonder what the translation of that word is in any English to Turkish dictionary...because thats ridiculous.

Anyway, has nobody even noticed where the red line is drawn in the picture of Cyprus within the ad to rally for ethnic cleansing?

Main source please get your facts rights it was the gcs who were commiting genocide towards the tcs not the other way round. Which is why turkey came to assit in the so called invasion.

2600 people turned up does that not sho you there is support for change and development, for something that just asks for recognition after 30 years.

I sorry negotiator but both sides have committed atrocities against the other. No side here is faultless.

Or maybe it shows ignorance on the organises part as they do not even know where they are suppost to be supporting.

What Dhavlos stated is true there were things that shouldnt have happened from both sides but what if Turkey did not come to save the TCs they would have been wiped out. Also the island was mixed before the war there were houses in south cyprus which belonged to Turks. My theory is that If the Liberation did not happen the peace we have lived in for nearly half a century wouldnt have happened.

samed.... yes true, but i think now people have got over the enosis/taksim stuff from the 1960s.

Peace has been restored, but at the price of freedom, both now can be restored fully in due course

I did not say that there was no blame on the tcs side yes gcs were killed there is no denying that. However the TCs were defending themselves, they were not on political campaign to rid a race from a soceity.

I would also agree that if Turkey had not came in then I probably would not be sitting here now, as my family would all have been killed if the campaign had succeeded.

But that is neither here nor there. We need to move on and not reminise, if unification is not the anser then separation as 2 separate states as we are. Something must happened either way as it cannot continue as it is. The North desserves international recongnition and acceptance!!!!

genocide??? Is that another one of the Denktashes doctrines? Do you know how many TCs were killed from 1960-1974? Do you know that more GCs were killed than TCs? Do you know that the death toll for the TCs was less than one in a 1000?

Do you know what genocide is?It is the death of 1.5 million of Armenias (out of 4 million) in just one year!

Genocide-imish!!!!!

MicAtCyp, if you know genocide so well, then let me give you an example of a going on genocide-->Israel vs Palestine, now that's a genocide, Israelis are killing Palestanian people for years now, Israelis have high technology and a lot of money where Palestanians have just guts and rocks! The so-called Armenian genocide is not yet proven too, so don't come up as if you have the degree to prove it.(I don't say it as an insult, I mean the degree of a historian)

SWISS PARLIAMENT OVERWHELMINGLY RECOGNIZES ARMENIAN GENOCIDE
