As you know,i have one son in his mid twenties and sooner or later his time will come to choose a partner..
BUT he clearly knows,if he wants mine or his mothers approval he doesn't bring us one of them.
I even accept an eskimo (no disrespect to eskimos here) but i DONT want a mainland Turk..

I have already had this discussion with my son .... so I find your disclosure disconcerting. :?

I have told my son that if he finds and falls in love with a Turk (male or female) ... I will accept it completely, and be truly delighted he has found love. And I mean it ...

My cries of "Bloody Turks" and "I hate Turks", as I have always maintained are personal .... and not transferable ...

So why would you oppose your son's choice?

I confess,i am a racist git as pantheman sussed me out..

warrior
funny, in my village, everyone "turk" or "greek" pinned money on the bride as they danced at the wedding whether they were "greek" or "turkish"...

...what does that say about the Cyprus that "was".

but what do i know, my village was "mixed".

SSSsssshhhhhh .............. can't talk about positive evets that may bring us closer. Some TC's in here have made sure of that. In fact I wonder if they are getting paid to catastrophise everything that is positive. ;)

i am soo amused reading all these comments. i was slaughtered on this forum for saying that i would prefer my grandaughter to marry someone who was blond haired and blue eyed. so its ok if your cypriot but not okay if your a brit? recently there was a report on world news about the american population changing ethnically in the next 50 years. so preserving ones own race and heritage is wrong? i am not a racist, i hope my grandaughter will find someone and be happy but i am intitled to a preference. as are cypriots.

I remember you had that fight with Feisty ...

I think I posted to support you, or it may have stayed in my head ...

People should be free to choose as they wish ... and it is not racist to have preferences IMHO ... it is Human nature!

That is why I will never impose my sexual preferences (speaking as a Biologist) on someone else!

Now war, injustice, invasion and abuse of Human rights is a whole new ball game! :P

İceman never talk big gardaşcığım .

how about one of her parents from Turkey and she was born here ?

that is my sutiation .İ used to talk big like u gardaş .

Same thing happened to my aunt. She almost had a nervous breakdown (no kidding) when she found out my cousin was thinking about marrying a mainlander. They even threatened to disown her, ofcourse they didn't and ofcourse she did what she wanted to do.

At the time I was mortified myself because if you ever saw him , but now I'm really happy she did because she's really happy and has a really strong marrige, you can tell they married for the right reasons.

As I have often said ... there is no earthly difference between Turks and "TC"s ... all the same

So when we have a Cyprus settlement ... we get back 70,000 Turks of any flavour (Turks "TC", Settler, Anatolian, Harem, Turkish ex-soldier) and no more ....

You have now officially crossed the Oracle line

If a solution is not found soon then in some years there will be no distinction between TCs and Turks. While the assimilation of TCs with the rest of Cypriots was something venomously opposed by the Turkish leadership and they have even forced those who were assimilated to "unassimilate", in the case of the Turkish Settlers the opposide is true. Turkey wants the TCs and its Settlers fully assimilated the earlier possible.

You're more of a Turk than all the TCs in here put together!
