Incident: Easyjet A320 near Cyprus on Aug 21st 2008, violent shaking
By Simon Hradecky, created Thursday, Aug 21st 2008 15:31Z, last updated Thursday, Aug 21st 2008 15:31Z

The crew of an Easyjet Airbus A320-200, registration G-TTOG performing flight U2-1974 from Paphos (Cyprus) to Manchester,EN (UK) with 161 passengers, declared emergency and returned to Paphos about one hour into the flight, after the airplane started to shake violently.

Passengers initially thought, they had encountered severe turbulences, but the shaking didn't stop.

The flight was cancelled and passengers were booked into hotels at Paphos.

The cause of the violent shaking is unknown.

Local media in Cyprus report, that passengers were told by the airline, that they needed to stay in Cyprus until September because no airplane would be available.

Is this for real??? They have to pay for 161 passengers (more then 100,000euros + law suits) to remain in Cyprus for 2 weeks?? Isn't it cheaper to charter a plane?

I think it was the one with the pilot who suffered from Parkinson's disease. :)

What about people's families, homes and work etc? I am sure some passengers will be happy, but not all!

Stelios will not be a happy man that is for sure?
