What are peoples views on the film 'Attilas 74'?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Precisely! What was he double crossed about and by whom?

General Alevromagiros thinks that the deal was a simultaneous attack by both Greece and Turkey against Cyprus, a dissolution of the RoC and double union. But that is an opinion, regardless of the reliability of the source, and not facts.

Ioannides will not talk, nor express regrets over Cyprus so he can be let out of jail. He is the only one who knows who called him on the phone and what he said. It was right after he put the phone down that he said those cryptic words according to eye witnesses.

Medman wrote:I have recently seen the film and it doesn't make good viewing for either the Greek Cypriots and the Turkish Army on many counts. There is no Turkish Cypriot viewpoint on the events, but it was from a Greek Cypriot director afterall. In the film it features Nicos Sampson smoking away and giving his opionions on the events in 74. However can any mild mannered person in the know please explain to me why Nicos Sampson was only jailed in 1976, whilst some of EOKA B's henchmen got away scott free it seems? Any views? It seems that the director focused on the fact that to be a good Greek Cypriot, that the only true goal is ENOSIS. Hmmm!!!!
:2guns:

It is a good documentary and I suggest every TC should watch it..but it could have been much better if Cacogiannis was neutral.. Some1 who doesnt know Cyprus well would believe there has never been Turkish Cypriots on the island , nothing happened between 63-74 and the only victims were GCs :?
Akamas is a better movie :)

As a GC I found the movie offensive. It is an overdose of self pity. It is one more example of Athenian-Byzantine culture which has become the standby in Greece. Much of that spirit is evident in the popular songs of the 50s and 60s as well as in movies and tv series etc.

Hellenism has other sources of culture it could draw on without sinking to this wallowing self pity. But then I am often reprimanded by Greek intellectuals because I put ancient Sparta above Athens. So my opinion must be in the smallest of minorities.
