Your posting although quoting one of mine has no bearing whatsoever on my question but skeet shooting appears to be fairly similar to clay pigeon shooting here in the UK but it is a fairly uncommon pastime. I have looked at the webpage you refer to and note thie chappie you refer to is British born according to the webpage and it infers that he can speak one language i.e. English.
No disrespect but I am not surprised that Cypriots are good at shooting skeets, which I presume is what the targets are called, as they are huge in comparison to the tiny birds shot as they migrate over the island.
I realise that your claim that 10% of the world's top shooters are Cypriot is nowhere near the truth and suppose you mean just this one type of target.
Mr T. (sorry but does the stand for Tosser), you know absolutely jack about skeet shooting, clay pigeon or any other type of shooting so your last post was a complete load of bollocks.
Just for the record, clay pigeon shooting is extremely popular as a past time in the UK and the size of the target, which you obviously have no idea about is much smaller than you think at a distance of 30 - 40 yds or so.
Oplypic skeet is very difficult to shoot and to be able to consistantly shoot it like these guys, I would give mi right arm for.
So please, you are out of your depth here, you were just trying to be spiteful against the GC shooters for doing so well. Now please tell me if you can how many TRNC participants were there and how many Turks even made it to the olympics. Now you can be as spiteful as you like. Idiot.
It must have exhausted your brain thinking up the rather pathetic tosser comment but little things please little minds.
You say my posting is bollocks?
Are you saying that the website does not say the shooter was born in Britain and that the language he speaks is English?
Are you saying that GCs are in the top 10% of all shooting sports and not just skeet shooting?
Are you saying that GCs do not shoot birds like sparrows or are you saying sparrows etc in Cyprus are bigger than clays?
Are you saying that I don't know how large a clay is albeit that I have both handled them and shot them?
If you are and you are correct then it is bollocks but if not you know that it is you that are coming out with bollocks as usual.
I do not deny knowing very little about skeet shooting nor that I am not interested in learning about it but it is you who is ignorant of facts. The fact that a tiny proportion partake in clay pigeon shooting in the UK does not make it popular. The only person I know who clay pigeon shoots is an estate agent and it is well known how far down the scale of respect they are. Do you try and sell property by any chance?
I was not being spiteful against GC skeet shooters but am now tempted to say that perhaps they gained their shooting abilities from their forebears who honed their skills shooting Turks prior to 74 but I don't think you would appreciate that.
Finally I have no more interest in the number of Turkish contestants who have gone to the Olympics than I do in the numbers from Peru, India etc. and neither do I have any interest of how many medals they have but I know how well my British compatriots have fared.
