My family are due to come out on holiday in september to protaras. Could some one tell me what the nearest boarder points(and where on the map etc) would be and if i would be able to take a hire car across.
Many thanks

Why do you want to spoil your holiday? ... or are you one of those holiday makers that turns up after wars, earthquakes, disasters to get some sense of cheap thrills, relishing atrocities in a sadistic capacity ....

... who mentioned names?
The north part of the Island is under occupation and is effectively a war zone devastated of its natural and rightful inhabitants. Hence anyone "visiting" there is going to ogle at the equivalent of a battle-zone .... the aftermath of war, an ethnically cleansed "relic" .... I know some people feel good looking at misery.
