arent they nerves? im not sure wether its neuron connections in a brain or in another nerve system.

Brilliant! :D ..... Yes they are a collection of neurons (dendrites I think).

I'll post one more, then maybe someone else can post some too, as I don't mind stretching my brain a little ....

im not big on microbiology, never mind cellular biology. Looks like bacteria...but a little different, it looks like something is inside some of those "cells" (ill call them cells for the sake of argument).
