Novus, be patient till you get to Cyprus.

Cypriot hunters and shooters seel their guns when they think their missing is the gun's fault, and not their own, which is most of the time. So you find some excellent used guns on sale. A Beretta 686 or 687 would be a good choice. It will digest over 10 000 shots before it needs any kind of servicing.

I was just thinking about if I got a good deal on a nice shotgun, how hard would it be to take a shotgun I bought in Cyprus home to the US?
What are the Cyprus exporting laws?

Novus, I doubt you will find a gun in Cyprus that you can't get in the US mate. Unless it is about 5000 years old

If you buy it from a shop they may be able to export on your behalf, so that you won't have to go through the motions of getting it registered here first. If it is a private sale, god only knows.

Good luck anyway

Are you looking for anything in particular ???

Nothing in particular because I know almost nothing about quality shotguns. I was just wondering if I came across a great deal I wanted to jump on. I would be learning as I went. Also if I stayed there long enough and I bought one to use when I was there, I would want to take it back with me someday.
My firearms knowledge is a little more geared towards old military surplus at the moment, not sporting shotguns.

Novus,

just remembered, we have our own resident fine english shotgun supplier her on this forum. He has married into a gun making firm his handle is none other than Purdey.

pm him, he will be able to tell you about import/export as he does gun deals here in cyprus.

Sorry for not remembering sooner.

good luck
