Ray, clay pigeons are on the endangered list, which enrages the antis and makes shooting them more fun.

I think you’ll find that bringing a gun in from outside the EU is a paperwork nightmare.

Buying a gun here is very simple…

Novus, if you decided to bring your gun to Cyprus remember that only single barrel single shot and couble barreled guns are allowed. Autos and pumps are not allowed.

A dedicated over under specially built for clay shooting will set you back about 1500 Euros. If you want a less specialised gun you can start from as low as 400 Euro. In the long run the cheaper way is to start with a decent gun that will last.

I see, thanks.
What do you have to go through to purchase a shotgun in Cyprus? Licensing? Registration of the shotgun? Any tests need to be taken?
I think I asked this one before in another thread, but I can't remember the answer: what about someone who is not a citizen of the EU or Cyprus and can they buy one in Cyprus?

What are the laws about making your own shotgun in Cyprus? Can it be done, or is the paperwork even worse than importing a shotgun?

Wow! No background check, registration or notification to the government?
Hmm, maybe some gun laws in Cyprus aren't as bad as I feared. It isn't that easy to buy from a shop in the US even.
