why move to Cyprus if yu wanna live near the Brits?

Right question. Some Brits think that Cyprus is UK with sun. It is not like that. If you are not willing to change yourself and adapt to the Cypriot way of life and maybe learn Greek then you will just waste your time and money and in a some months or few years you will be back to the UK. That is especially true for young people that want to work here.

Hello Lee,
If you and the family are going to all the trouble of emigrating to Cyprus then consider looking for somewhere to live amongst the Cypriots rather than a British enclave. With the right research you will find a place where you and yours will be made welcome and not be regarded as a problem. Check out the inland villages for a better way of life and good neighbours. As for the beach and work, short of going right up the mountains you will never be that far from both. Start in the village coffee shops for information and attitudes.

For the British Cyprus is not the UK with sun, no more than the UK is Cyprus with rain for those Cypriots who have settled there. Being one half of an Anglo Cypriot forty year partnership which has been spent in Cyprus and the UK I can recommend not living within the narrow bounderies of nationalities as you lose nothing and gain much.
