Miltiades..It may seem a bit extreme having 6 dogs, but like I said the 2 Goldens were through choice. The others...well what can you do..? Ignore 'em and let em get run over or starve to death or be poisoned.

Anyway they are part of the family now and although they all take a bit of looking after properly I think we would not be without them.

They are all different characters in their own way and can be a lot of fun. A month or two ago I heard a commotion in the garden and upon investigating I found the two small Terrier crosses playing tug of war with a dead snake..! Fortunately it was not one of the venomous types.

Home now is in Anglisides Village..about 12 miles west of Larnaca town. Its an older village style house which we bought and have been renovating...trouble with the older places though is that I sometimes wonder if I'll ever get it finished entirely..always something needs doing.

Father was GC and left Cyprus for the UK in about 1945.

Retirement....! Ah yes looking forward to that day..am 57 now.

Thats Terriers for you.

I thought the story was more about the loneliness of the author. :?

The anthropomorphisms she projected on Goofy, are classic examples of filling a gap in her need to nurture.

I love enormously all my countless pets, which at one time or another span representatives from all the classes of the animal kingdom, and each time one dies I swear I would not get attached to another ... but still they come!

We humans are such needy creatures.

Raymanoff...

No don't understand your point mate. Don't know what you've been watching about children in distress..but whats that got to do with the ladys post about losing her dog..?

Are you going to complain about every other post that does not deal with those children in distress..?
