I respond when we are provoked by somehting that some TC says or some article posted. I don't talk about Cy Prob. in other topics! When I get all that racism and hate against us then I say how I feel about it. Should I hide my feelings? I don't hate anybody out of nothing only those that harm me! Can you blame me for this?

Sotos I do not hate either TC or GC people and I don't think any of my previous posts or replies could be interpreted as such. Are you perhaps confusing my name, Connor, with another Conor..note only one n in the other Conor.

My comment about bad mannered GC people was intended as nothing more than light hearted banter.

You know in the UK there is England, Scotland,Wales and of course Northern Ireland..well in turn they all occasionaly like to poke fun at each other..the English regard the Irish as thick..the Scottish as tight etc etc and likewise the Sots and the Irish poke fun at the English.

I think there are times when it would pay GC's and some TC's to "Lighten up" a little and let some harmless banter/joking come to the fore. The Cyprus problem, as its known, is of course a serious subject and not one to be ridiculed however I don't see how good hearted personal jibes at each now and again would really do too much damage...who knows it might even do some good.

As one who has met Deniz on more than one occasion , in fact I think about 6 or 7 times in all , I couldn't agree more with Connor's assessment !!
Deniz is not only a gentleman but a true Cypriot ! Have a good time my friend .

Connor ... the TCs and GCs are not like the Scots, Welsh and English as you seem to think. Also whilst a Scot can poke fun at the English and vice versa, it is a different kettle of fish if the Scots poked fun with the Welsh about the English.

You being neither GC or TC was showing partisan bias by poking fun at one faction and not the other. A political minefield I know, but think about the situation in northern Ireland and how the native Irish-folk felt about the English.

Like Sotos said Cyprus is a country at war ... albeit a modern kind, where we pause to negotiate our positions to avoid unnecessary bloodshed.

The GCs are their own worst enemies by being so good at getting on with life despite having nearly half their country under occupation by a foreign power that is phenomenally opposed to democracy ... that is pretty scary, huh?

So people do not realise how much the Cypriots (not the Turkish kind ) may be suffering inside ... whilst many recent immigrants are here for a good time, retire and have light hearted banter.

I think on the whole the Cypriots are pretty tolerant of tomfoolery, even at their own expense
