I dont for a minute consider Connors' comments as inappropriate , I often make similar comments about a variety of races. Suggesting that some Cypriots are bad mannered is a FACT , the same applies to a huge number of people from other parts of the world.UK has bad mannered people from across the globe , people who spit in the street , talk loudly in their own language which in my time it was considered rude , show no respect to the natives of this nation , drink beer at 10 o'clock in the morning in public places and discard, just as they do in Cyprus , their empty beer cans in the road.

What a charming gentleman he is...and much better mannered than some GC's I could mention..!.....Ouch..!

Unless one compares like with like, one is showing bias.

The gentlemanly thing to have done, was to compare Deniz to other TCs, and make comment about his good manners, relative to TCs.

He chose to ridicule the GCs based on the "holiday manners" of one TC forumer he has met in person.

Even that is not like for like.

Deniz can come across as a belligerent misquoting, foul-mouthed old codger when he wants to on the forum ... so how many GCs has connor met in real life off the forum, to compare and contrast like for like?

Now, this is only interesting as an exercise in getting to the bottom of these preconceived notions and prejudices, and is no way an attack on (sensitive) connor.

I think the main problem was the obvious dig at the GCs with the use of a TC as a paragon.

Under normal circumstances that may have passed for a joke (but I wouldn't have said it was funny anyway).

But we are a war-torn country ... some of us bombed directly as small children by the people TCs support, others unable to return to their homes through being ethnically cleansed by the people gentlemen such as Deniz descend from ....

So what is more important to you connor, to apparently have "good" manners, or to oppose the division of an island by ruthless invaders that violate UN Resolutions and abuse Human Rights?
