Nicosia, 5 August: The presidential spokesperson of the [self- declared] Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said on Tuesday [5 August] that the Turkish Cypriot party was ready for the comprehensive negotiations to be commenced in Cyprus next month.

During a weekly press briefing, TRNC's presidential spokesperson, Hasan Ercakica, said that the Turkish Cypriot party would work with "full capacity" for the successful completion of the negotiation process that would start on 3 September.

Commenting on the "hardest and easiest issues to be discussed during the negotiations", Ercakica said "ownership of properties" turned into a complicated matter.

"As long as there is an intention to find a solution, even the most complicated problems can be solved in a pragmatic and simple way," Ercakica said.

He said problems regarding ownership could be solved if all necessary tools, such as compensation, exchange and restitution were used properly.

Ercakica also said that solution of easy problems would facilitate the settlement of other issues.

Ercakica said "administration" and "sharing of power" were two primary issues to be discussed during the talks to be held on 3 September or the second meeting, to take place on 11 September.
