"partition appears to be the only solution" Wash.T

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Can you see a new GC administration in say 5 years time coming back to the table to do a deal - after the TRNC has had direct flights, trade and investment in infrastructure and hosts a million tourists a year?

and after Turkey has been blocked from her EU accession which will cost her millions financially?
If you "Anglos", want to openly support your Turkish friends even more, do it. Take your bases there also, because there is no way you can stay here in peace if you do such thing.

when there is a moderate GC administration in a few years the negotiations based on the A-plan will be resurrected

It seems you are a bit confused. The Annan plan was not rejected by any administration. It was rejected by the people because it was a partition plan that it had as an aim to serve the Turks, the British and the Americans but not us. Is it more clear now?

Piratis

what you have gained by being in the Eu, is the same as what Turkey will lose by being blocked from the Eu.....in otherwords nothing.

All that happens is they tell you how long or heavy sausages can be and what your roadsigns can be etc etc

Anglo

If you are British, can you please tell us what Britain gains by being in the Eu?

Yes, I am British.

The EU has given us straighter bananas and lots and lots of rules and regulations and more paperwork.

Primarily, membership benefits big business and politicians who want to lord it in Brussels.

Why? Many European and other foreign businessmen have investments even in Iran. Turkey's financial system does not collapse but the NATO alliance takes a big wound. Globalization of world takes a big wound. Putting Turkey outside of EU cause collapse of globalization process. Turkey is the final leg of globalization of Europe. The big actors of globalization project which are also members of NATO alliance will exert every effort to make Turkey a European country.

That is what EU is. One world government under control of big capital owners and their servants; politicians. The globalization tool of US and its allies.

Why then did you join it?

Why you do not pull out from it now that you realised what is all about?

The British are normally politically apathetic and don't get involved in politics. Only about 60% turned out for this election this week.

For Euro elections the turnout is sometimes as low as 12%.

Two million people marched in London against the Iraq war, though, and look what that changed - nothing. So it's not surprising people don't bother.
