HAVE YOU BEEN RIPPED OFF IN CYPRUS?

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

I've never been ripped off in Cyprus. Although i did think €8 for a bottle of wkd was a bit much. They sell for £2 in england.

I am no defender of all Cypriots or all English but have been very shocked over the last two days by a 'friend' who went to look at a complex for me when I needed to buy a property for a certain amount off a certain developer.
At the time he told me the charge for doing this for me would be a 'drink' for him and the friend he took with him.
He has now moved back to the Uk and yesterday told me that his friend would be happy with 120 Euros and asked me to send him a cheque for £175.
What sort of drink did he mean ffs?

Quite frankly it's like living on the set of Eastenders in the ex pat community now.
"Yes I'll clean your bungalows windows; that'll be €30".
"Yes I'll build you a tatty wobbly fence; that'll be €1365.
"Yes I'll do two hours of weeding; that'l be €140.
"Actualy I was a binman in the UK now I'm a pool maintenance engineer; I bought all these chemicals and a leaflet from Shipshape".
etc, etc, etc.

Well seeing as you say yes you have been ripped off one would have to question your intelligence in paying it.
Most people with at least half a brain cell would tell them where to go.

I actualy lied a little here the rip offs all except the window cleaning were charged to the owner of our rental property, the window cleaning was at a disabled friends home.

The attempted rip offs against us by the house agent failed.

To use your own words:-

"Most people with at least half a brain cell would tell them where to go".

You don't show much sense of judgement when picking your friends very well do you?

Who's intelligence is in question now?

I never said I'd paid it.
People can try it on with me but they don't get away with it.

I never said that you did, you were sarcastic with me so I returned the compliment.

280 Euros per year to get my bins emptied THREE times per week in Cyprus ....

(and I don't generate more rubbish in the UK than Cyprus  , though the over-packaging is still disgraceful at Sainsbury's  ).

So far .... the answer is a big OXI (NO) ..... I have not been ripped off in Cyprus!

Well as you've admitted lying in your post, anything you say cannot be given a lot of credence anyway. You're just living on hearsay.
