Anyone help on what amount of US$ cash can be brought into Cyprus on a visit please? I seem to remember a sign at the Customs at the airport but never took much notice as I had no money!!

There is no limit how much you can bring in.

Depends on the country you are leaving, how much they allow you to take out.

From the UK you can bring 10,000euros undeclared, anymore than that and you have to officially declare it at customs leaving the country.

If you are bringing mega bucks, you should also declare it at customs on the way in and get the necessary form signed and stamped, because when you go to bank it, they will want to know where you got it from.

Good luck

You sure? Once when I went to the USA they asked me to fill some form because I was taking more than some specific amount

Thanks to all for the info.

So if i tell my buddy that he can probably change $5,000US at the bank without having any customs import receipt he should be OK, or better still ask customs at the airport for a receipt?
