It was built in the 1880's along with other similar houses, but it is now the only one still remaining, since the bombings.
Anyway .... according to hubby, the water-supply had been cut off regularly during the night for "essential" repairs to the vintage system prevalent in this area, and apart from the usual warnings to not run the washing machine until all discolouration had disappeared from the mains water, we are now left with tap water that smells like bleach and even Oil of Bergamot can't disguise the taste of chlorinated tea
