Soto, scientist are forever discovering 'new formula' etc, so what is recommended today will be yesterday's news!

Will a well-balanced diet not suffice?

...and this is for you Zan. If you read it now you might get some action on your holiday instead of spending your nights on the internet you sad bastard.

Anybody knows where in Cyprus I can find brand name protein supplements at reasonable prices or any online store that delivers in Cyprus with low cost shipping?

Sotos, forget those protein supplements. I think they are kind of dodgy and taking an unatural amount of protein in one dose cant be good for the body. Instead try eating plain nuts. Nuts have a high source of protein and apparently one handful of nuts had the equivalent amount of protein as a normol meal. They also supplement your hunger for sugar and carbohydrates.

Rebel, nuts contain protein but they also contain insane amounts of fat. They are at least 60% fat. Some of them are over 80% fat!!

Sotos seriously, the body is weakened by a long-term high protein diet.

But if you want to bulk up just eat more eggs, fish, chicken and as Rebel said, nuts. You will burn off the extra calories if you are weight training anyway. Just stay off the "empty" calories, like sweets.

Thanks Orcale but if you eat a lot of chicken, fish and eggs isn't again a high protein diet? So whats the difference if you take protein with a powder? I want some supplement because I can't eat meat or fish more than once a day.

Some nuts are more fatty than others. For example, brazil nuts have an oil in them which turns to fat - but you can eat one brazil nut when consuming nuts. Sotos, if you are working out then the fat in the nuts should burn out. Also, some nuts have more fat than others so do your research.

If you just want to bulk up then for the protein supplements but if your serious about maintaining a healthy diet then id go for the natural sources of protein.
