How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Leaders Meetings

I think we may under estimate the serioussness of our CF chatting to the process for unification. Talat and Christofias have come a long way and I think with a bit more support and understanding they will reach a solution beneficial to Cypriots.

The sooner they open the crossing at Limnitis (near Papho right?) the sooner we will expereince a united Cyprus as those communites will be the first to synergise.

I am excited.

there was great artice in the tehran times if you are interested in a fair article.

For the first time a Cypriot President will go to Kyrenia. Christofias will attend Talat's daughter wedding on Thursday. Actually, I think he will visit the Talats on Saturday in Kyrenia. Remember when the previous president would not even have a coffee with Talat?

How wrong you all are, Turkey has just planted the seeds of failure. read Hails (i mean shit stirrers) post in news from the north.

Toilet won't entertain (as he has been directed by his puppet masters) any solution where turkey is to give up guarantor rights.

Well, enough said, back to square one.

Turkish Cypriots will cheer up the Christofias . great effort from him .

He might visit his village Dikmen (DİKOMO ) . İt will be great if he does !

at both sides fanatics will go mad for this great news . he will get good points from world too . he knows the politics .

i hope these efforts will help to Cyprus problem otherwise it will be only populist show .

pantheman, I know that talat is a mere puppet to Turkey though things are brewing the TC's can no longer stand seeing the free areas excell in europe and they are mising out. They are also discovering freedom and are probably seeing right through Turkeys use and abuse of them.

As far as hallils propaganda posts well take it just as that.

I think Christofias is onto what Turkey is aiming to do. But I think he demilitarisation of the Island is a way of getting turkey out of the way. Now its all up to the TC's as to what they want. It is also up to all Cypriots not to vote for something they do not support when it goes to referendum.

I'm actually quite excited about all this. I think they'll end up striking a deal. Everyone involved needs a solution, weather the people vote Yes/No is another story...

I see that both the optimists and cynics are still alive and well on this forum. The optimists look at the positive side of things while the cynics look for something to undermine the positives. It makes the realists amongst us rather uncertain at times. I try and think of myself as a realist, in that both leaders are meeting, and that there needs to be a solution. True, Turkey is not going to approve if it perceives that a solution would not be in their strategic interest, so this is going to be interesting to see how it turns out...

Andrea,

The question now is whether there are enough TCs left in the north to make a difference. The latest population figures are alarming. I heard them last night on RIKSAT from a TC and understood that the game is lost. There are less than 55000 TCs left on the island.
