What good things do the Brits bring to Cyprus?

Postby Z4 » Sun Jul 27, 2008 10:05 pm

With the earlier topic from J&J which sounds at all the negative things about Brits. Let's fight back and shout out what good things us Brits bring to Cyprus.

Here's two things:

1) Employment - lots of expats move over and start their own business
2) Income to Cyprus - without Brits visiting Cyprus the Islands tourist trade would really suffer.

They bring themselves .... 8)

I do not think there is a real financial benefit for Cyprus, by the Brits coming over any more ... they are the main beneficiaries.

So long as they accept they are getting quality of life, endless sunshine, extended lifespan ... all these priceless commodities .... if they are just willing to blend in .... they will do fine .... no need for them to bring anything ..... Cyprus is self-sufficient ...

Thank you. :D

To be serious now!!

I dont think in either of the instances Simon mentioned , Tourism and Business the Brits are particularly benifiting Cyprus as in both cases they are also trying to get something Out of Cyprus

if the tourists weren't getting value for money they wouldn't come over, and If the business wasn't making money then they wouldn't stay.

I think it is more of a case of the British and indeed other nationalities seeing what they can get out of Cyprus and I dont mean this to sound detrimental to the Brits.

When I lived in Cyprus it was because I wanted the Cypriot 'lifestyle' and the benefits it could bring to myself and my family.
Now maybe some would see that as being selfish....

But many Cypriots have settled in the UK and all over the world and I would suggest that they did that also for the benefit of themelves and thier families

I would agree with Os points regarding the intregation etc
