Can Cyprus actually go back to the way it was?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Where have we said we want to solely benefit in a union of 2 states as proposed in the current talks? everyone will have the freedom to live where ever they wish, they will have the choice and not be forced into one GC state as proposed by guess who? GCs.

You mean just that every time you demand more than 18%.

Include GCs who wish to live in the north state and this figure soon increases.

And where is the logic in that?

Lets reverse it and lets see if you accept it:

Lets give to the GCs 12% more land than what they own, so 90% of land to GCs and 10% land to TCs. Then if you say 90% is too much, my answer would be: "Include TCs who wish to live in the south state and this figure soon increases".

Or you think all TCs will be able to live in the 10% of land and they wouldn't want to live in the rest 90% of land?

Let the demand determine the %, would you agree to that?

The demand in what way?

The more you demand and the more you gain, the more of the other community will have to live in "your" state.

If the states are 18%-82% it would mean that about an equal number of TCs and GCs will live in the other state.

If the GC state is a lot bigger, say 94%( 12% more than 82%) then obviously a lot more TCs will live in the GC state because the TC state will be too small for them. Similarly, if the TC state is 30% (12% more than 18%) that would mean that a lot more GCs will live in the TC state because the GC state would be too small for them.

So cut the lame excuses VP. It is crystal clear that you demands for anything more than 18% is based solely on your greediness and your expectations that you can have gains on our loss because you think you won the war. That will never happen my friend. As long as you are trying to gain on our loss the war will continue and you will never manage to enjoy any gains.

You should be happy that we made the compromise to have a federal solution with you the majority in one of the two states (something which was not your right since we are the legal majority of the whole island), and stop trying to have even more and disproportional gains on our loss because even our goodwill has limits.

If they can live side by side, is the wrong question. The VITAL question is if they can do business on the other side. The distance being small you can live in Kyrenia and do business or work in Nicosia. And like it or not the true business of the island is in south Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaxa and in the reconstruction of Famagusta. People will gravitate to where business is.

The reconstruction of Famagusta alone is going to be a goldmine. Do the figures and see why. That one project alone will change the economy of the island for a generation. And ALL of the above are in the GC controlled areas. Is there any similar attraction in the north? If so where? And is it still in Cypriot hands? Enough said.
