WHO ACTUALLY HATES WHO?

Postby MedByzantine » Sun Jul 27, 2008 3:16 pm

From what I have witnessed in London, Cypriot Greeks and Cypriot Turks don't hate each other, actually quite the opposite, most are best friends. And from what I have seen many Turkish Cypriots in North Cyprus have no animosity to Greek Cypriots whatsoever. SO, where is all the current hatred and animosity coming from and at its most RAMPANT?

I dont think the majority of Cyprus' different communities hate eachother - only the uneducated or ignorant.

For me, I dont hate or dislike any Turk or Turkish Cypriot outright - although when the conversation about Cyprus comes up and I hear comments that would promote or lead to the destruction of my community's heritage and culture in the north...(i.e. recognise the 'TRNC' etc), then the dislike begins to kick in.

I can't vote because there are two groups I hate and I do not have two votes ... :(

I really can't choose just one above the other as that would be discriminatory

...and when the lies and nasty comments are made on websites like ATCA (genocide my ARSE)...yeah the hate does creep in. Damn I feel like a young Anakin Skywalker.

Are we distinguishing between academic and educated? Because I think there is a difference.

That's an interesting theory. How about destructive ideologies, deliberate historical distortion, manipulation of people's lives and emotions, persecution, violence, etc? Does the educated mind ignore or forgive those things? Should we all aspire to emotionless logic and accept whatever happens as long as we can see the causes?

i dont know who you are but if you dont know the difference between an educated mind and education as in academic
to enlighten you further there is only one kind of education in the world and it has nothing to do with going to school collage or university,
