How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

In this way we have a better chance of convincing the USA to take a closer look at our point of view. We should grow up and stop thinking that we are the victims and the whole world is conspiring against us. We are as much as to blame for our predicament as our adversaries. When the President of the Republic and the President of the Parliament point their fingers at the Americans and the Brits and declare them the perpetual enemies of Cyprus (they have both said this publicly. Christofias even spelled it out during a recent visit to London) then we should be worried. This is not how serious politicians who care for their country behave towards the most powerful nations on earth. Such behaviour would be damaging to say the least, even if they were 100% right. What has happened to diplomacy in this place? What has happened to the political culture? Our leaders seem to have forgotten the golden rule of politics. It does not matter if you are absolutely right. Things will not work for you simply because you are right and correct. Politics is the art of the feasible and people who forget this basic rule have damaged seriously their causes. I know, I am stating the obvious. It’s a platitude, but our leaders seem to care only for the appeasement of the domestic market since this is how they have helped shape the public opinion. You can blame them too for the creation of a spineless society where people have been conditioned to cheer every cretin statement of our leaders without questioning their enormous wisdom. Perhaps this is their greater sin towards Cyprus. They have destroyed our soul, hence the nepotism, the corruption and the involvement of all politicians in every single scandal that has come to the open.

Bananiot,
Do you by any chance mean to say that the US has done nothing wrong and against the interests of Cyprus and the GCs in the past?

I think the tc equivalent to the idea of making threats on the USA would be:

Gotunun deliyi

Exact translation is "your arses hole" in that manner but it does lose it in translation but very funny in turkish as this is an expression used to show complete dis-respect to that person or their idea.

Kifeas!
Is misspelling 'Brother' as 'Borther' a sign of losing your temper while typing? This is the only way I can explain you asking him that question, when he was just trying to explain in English what was written in Turkish.

There's pills for that, man!

Only joking... Chill dude!
