Letters from the TRNC

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Letters from the TRNC

Postby zan » Sun Jul 27, 2008 8:32 am

Good morning all.

Our first morning in our Hotel and we have just had breakfast. We are off to the Karpas region today with my sister and her husband.

I hope to be able to keep up to date with my travels, my thoughts and some photos (If you are interested).

This mornings feelings:

I don't like staying in Hotels but this is the only way for my wife to have a proper holiday (As she calls it).

I don't know if I like or hate the fact that there are too few tourists here. I don't know what the rest of the TRNC is going to be like but we shall find out in due course.

p.s. I can only post in the mornings and the evenings so please be patient .

Good morning Zan. Don't you mean "Letters from Occupied Cyprus"? I am not sure if I should be replying here ... maybe I should send my letters to you to "Mersin 10 Turkey" ...

I think you misunderstood her request when she asked for a "proper holiday"

(She probably just didn't want to mix with the Turk-TCs  )

Ignore some people's replies Zan

I hope you all have a great holiday. I am looking forward to your photos as myself and Webbo plan to visit the North side in the next month or so :)

Good morning and enjoy your holidays. Yes we will be interested in photos ...it will make it interesting.

Hopefully this thread wont go as far as Kikapu's trip thread...even though I personally enjoyed it.

By the way I thought your sister did not live north of Cyprus. Am I wrong?

We will be spending a day in the Enslaved Karpas when we go over in a few days time. We will be taking my mother to see her old Occupied Village and Stolen Property. She hasn't seen the place since about 1953/4 when she left for London, England.

Better take some hankies.

Not sure what would be worse, bumping in to the 40,000 buggers of the Occupation Army or the partitionist bugger Zan  .

Will also be visiting an elderly northern sister in another Occupied Village up there with a small present for a favour she did for us a couple of years ago. :)

Enjoy your holiday Zan - you won't see this I guess till you're back from Karpas but if you visited Mehmetcik (Galatya I think) then I hope you bought some 'sucuks' - they are fab from there.

Out of interest, are you staying in the Famagusta area ?
