Iceman

I will answer you on this thread if you don't mind. My sisters have sold their houses in the UK and bought (Very carefully) only TC land and or houses. They have had no help or handouts from anyone. They have nothing to fear from unification except the loss of identity andliving as a minority again.... I say again because we have done that in the UK all our lives. I have written before about the UK of yesterday not being the multi-cultural society of today so the hardships we faced is very real. We are not about to sign away our rights in the only place we feel equal with our own people.

Today I asked the people we met what they thought about unification and if they were all for it. Some are in Guzelyurt living in GC homes because their homes are in the South. The others are in Yesilirmak, my fathers village. what they said was that enclaves were out of the question for a start. I asked if they would be happy with a Greek government and us as a minority and they said " Eh! Biz neyik". They also said that they would never give up the guarantor of Turkey. This is the voice of those that have never left the island.

When in Girne and Lefcosa we went to eat at the Turkish cafe/restaurant, I could not help but notice the funny looks I got from these people that I had actually come to eat at their cafe when they heard my TC accent. I then started to notice that TCs did not eat at these places....Did I see it wrong? What is this utanmazlik? The TCs seem to like feeling superior. Those of us that have lived in a multi-cultural society seem to find it easier to relate. This is about governments and not about the everyday person. It is as unfair as Lena telling me that if I am nice to the GCs, if I cross over, then they will be nice to me. Thanks Lena but you could not be more insulting if you tried. My protest of not coming over is because of politics not because I hate or fear all GCs. I could care less if all the GCs moved over to the TRNC. What I want, and I believe what every TC wants , is representation and acknowledgement. It is those that think they are going to get rich by unification that are the danger and not the ones who might lose a house. They seem to want to sell their souls and their Turkishness for cash.

Anyway......I have already said more than I wanted to. Good night all. I am having a wonderful time here and have not felt this close to my home for as long as I can remember. We are starting to bloom and boom. Turkish road signs, Turkish shops and TC accents everywhere.

I've read this article from Zan a week ago, and I have been having a hard time getting rid of what I read from my mind. This is written from a man who calls the "trnc" his country where the TC's belong and should remain along with the settlers.

He first made this statement about his sister moving to the "trnc" from the UK.

They have had no help or handouts from anyone. They have nothing to fear from unification except the loss of identity and living as a minority again....

Well, they are living as minorities right now in their "own trnc country" and Zan was told this point blank by other TC's in the north..

But if that wasn't bad enough, the next sentence by Zan, was an icing on a cake with his delusional understanding of what it means to be a citizen of your own country when Zan went to eat at a Turkish restaurant.

"When in Girne and Lefcosa we went to eat at the Turkish cafe/restaurant, I could not help but notice the funny looks I got from these people that I had actually come to eat at their cafe when they heard
my TC accent".

Since when does a natural born citizen of a country see themselves as having an accent, as Zan was spotted having an accent by the Turks. It just goes to show just who sees who as a foreigner in their "own country", which the Turks see the TC's as the outsiders, because the Turks appeared to look "funny" at Zan for wanting to come an eat at their establishment, and Zan stood out like a sore thumb, because he has a TC accent in his own "country of trnc"..!!

If Zan plans to live in the "trnc" anytime soon before a settlement is reached, I'll suggest to him that he learns the Turkish accent before he moves to the "trnc", so that he will not be treated as a foreigner in his "own country of trnc" by the settlers from Turkey.!!

Do you understand that TCs prefer being a minority in the TRNC just as you are happy with being a minority living abraod rather than living as a minority in a GC state run by GCs.

Then I must have misunderstood you for the last 2 years on the forum VP, because you have given us the belief, that a "minority" meant 2nd class citizenship for you living with the GC's, and since you now accept being a minority in the "trnc" amongst the settlers from Turkey, does that not also mean that you are also a 2nd class citizen in the north.!!

Don't forget, that Zan got a "funny" look from the Turkish settlers at the restaurant and that Zan was noticed for having a
TC accent in his "own country".!!

It appears that many of the forum's NeoPartitionist are in Cyprus right now, so I was wondering if a NeoPertitionist POW-WOW meeting is scheduled to take place soon. We have there Zan, VP, Liar Soyer, Eric Dayi (since he has not said he is back from Cyprus yet) Unitedwestand a.k.a. MR-from-NG who said that he will be there in August, as well as their supporters like Halil and others.

I would also like to know what kind of "shit" will they be smoking in their Peace "partition" Pipe.!!

Perhaps Halil the "newsman" can give us an account if such POW-WOW takes place.!

Says who? VP? Why do you think you speak for all TCs, maybe thats what you think, but I don't see any official figures, census or otherwise where TCs have expressed a preference.

You continue to use and abuse the TCs to justify you partionist dreams, I am surprised that you haven't been challenged on this to date.

You are but an insignificant dot on this Island yet you take it upon your self to constantly refere to ALL TCs. Bollocks VP.

Give us a credible source and we shall see. (Geez, I sounded like GR for a min then  )

Fell free to ask as many TCs as you wish or do you fear the truth?

Care to conduct a carefully worded poll? We've done this before if you remember for eric dayi and he became disillusioned with his tc compatriots.....wanna be next?

Sure, lets see you prove that the majority of TCs want to live in a GC state run by GCs.

A minority amongst people you originate from and who you trust is totally different from accepting those you do not trust due to a dark past and risking your future , even you should be able to work that out but of course this does not support your 100% GC viewpoint.

I am really amazed at the way things are developing since my last post here many moons ago! I hope to join you and express my own opinions in the near future. Meanwhile, many mainland Turks in Eastern Turkey from where most of these so called "settlers" have originated from do use the words like TCs such as "neyik", so perhaps there were other underlying reasons why Zan had funny looks thrown at him! I mean did anyone say to him "We are giving you dirty looks because your use of Turkish language stinks"? In any case I see nothing wrong in speaking any language correctly - including Turkish... 8)

Pinocchio,

Now I know how your son got to have IQ-161, because he has added all of your IQ-61 to his IQ-100 for a total of IQ-161, but it left you with a IQ-zero.

You are happy to call other TC's Greek, but when it comes to you, you do not like it, when in fact, there is a very strong possibility that somewhere in your blood line, along the blood lines of other TC's going back 400+ years, that you do posses "Greek Blood". You may even be "blood brothers" with Bananiot or Piratis.

Are you going to reject Bananiot just because you do not like Piratis, or are you going to reject them both, because you think you are a "pure Ottoman" for god sake.

Many has agreed on scientific findings, that the Cypriot gene-pool is not pure along ethnic lines, but they are very similar, so what makes you think you are so pure. Now, I'm not saying you have any "Greek" in you, but prove to me, that you do not, which you can never never could. So the point is Pinocchio, before you shoot your mouth off to other TC's being Greek, you better think that it was possible a Greek was INTO (literally) one of your ancestors at some point in the past.

Re Kikopolous......Last time you brought my family into an argument I let you get away with it but this time all I can say to you is "al sanada be orosbu cocuyu".......Istediyin gibi ben da veririm.

Now if you care to read on then you will be explained to like the little child you are about the meaning of words. Whole sentences are even harder for you I know but I will try to help you along. You don't even understand what you write and now you are back tracking to cover your shame.

What you said was that I cannot be a Cypriot unless I have Greek blood not that I was Greek. I say that is absolute nonsense and as I have said in the past I don't really care what I have running through my veins. I am Turkish now and a Turkish Cypriot to boot. I have no intention of having my country as a solely Greek island in which I am made to look like a visitor. The island is both Greek and Turkish and what you do not understand, along with a whole lot of other things, is that that is what the Greek church and government want.

Now your embarrassment in finally answering the question of " have you converted to being Greek" in the manner you did with your mix of blood is your problem and not mine. If I have the same blood in me as Piratis then , yes I am ashamed. If I have the same blood as Bananiot then I could not be prouder and if I haven't then I want some. We met yesterday along with Halil and another friend of theirs and Bananiot is just as I imagined. One word describes him and that is "GENEROUS"....His heart and brain are in equal proportion and as big as the universe. If I could see the world through his eyes then I would be a happy man. All this in the space of an hour. I loved the way he handled the Ozi humour of his friend. He is indeed a giant amongst men as is Halil. My type of Cypriots.

Now to answer the questions about the "FUNNY" looks I got at the Turkish restaurant. Please, all of you, see the difference between "FUNNY" and "DIRTY". They were puzzled at my patronage and not alarmed. Since then, I have taken my wife and kids there again and this time the waiter plucked up the courage to ask if I was from Turkey and why my wife and children spoke English. I told him I was TC and my wife English to which he replied that he was only asking because TCs did not eat there. I said I had noticed and that it was a shame and we both sighed and shrugged our shoulders and left it at that. Someone posted an article here where all 100,000 mainland Turks are described as backward. I have no idea of the numbers but I have yet to meet one of these backward people that he describes. I am sure the exist but they do not work in the restaurants I have eaten in every day of the last two weeks. what I have had is top notch food and service. Many are working in TC owned businesses who are raking it in. The only prejudice I have experienced is from TCs who realise I am from London because of my accent or lack of. I have even had my cousins husband sit there and repeat the gossip they seem to sit and relate to each other here as to why people like us left the country in the first place. To escape national service, find work or food and all the other shit they seem to feed each other. None have expressed that they want Greek domination though but the improvement of the economy. That is all. They still fly both flags proudly.

The things I hate about the North is the rubbish everywhere. Today we visited the walled city of Magusa and that was much better.

The way people drive is disgusting also. I tried not to let it bother me but we witnessed the horrific accident that happened at 10:30pm last saturday outside the Zet go carting place. It was like watching a movie as sparks and dust flew as two motor cyclists were racing up the road and ran into a man crossing the road. Thank god my wife and children were looking the other way but I saw the pedestrians severed leg at the side of the road. It was carnage and I had to do all I could not to be physically sick. The kids wanted to go back for more rides but my wife and I just don't want to see the area again. I got so angry at the waste of life because I was convinced that no one would survive.

To end on a positive note......The food at the "Magarina Bulli" was excellent but much to much of a portion for me. I would like to thank Halil for arranging it all and for meeting me.

I don't know which last time I brought your family into any discussion, and If so, that it was done so in any negative way what so ever. Here I mention that your son has an IQ of 161, which is what you said not too long ago, and in return, you call me a son of a whore (orosbu cocuyu).!! I'm sure my mother of 82 years old appreciates a PRICK like you calling her a whore.!! But all I need to do, is look at the source and it becomes crystal clear who is saying it and the reasons, which is non other than a morally corrupted NeoPartitionist. That really says it all about your character.!

You can dice my words anyway you want Pinocchio, but you can't hide from the truth. The whole point was to bring it to your attention, that when you call other TC's "Greek" because you get pissed off, be ready to be also questioned regarding your own blood line. It is obvious that you think you are pure Ottoman and you speak of others being Greek, which you are doing it in a disparaging way, or else you would not call some one's 82 year old mother a whore. Until you can show me that Turkish Cypriots who has descended from the Ottomans who landed in Cyprus in 1571 does not have any Greek Blood in them, you are just making an argument for the sake of making an argument. You are not going to have the Ottomans come to Cyprus over 400 years ago and spread out into every corner of the island and not get "injected" from the local gene-pool, and of course, the same is also the truth, with Ottoman genes "injected" into the locals at the time and later. The fact that the Greeks were the larger group on the island, leads to a reasonable conclusion, that they were able to "dilute" the Ottoman's genes more effectively than other way around.

Here is what I said "By the way Pinocchio, did you know that you have some "Greek" in you, or else it is very possible that you cannot be a Cypriot otherwise". Therefore, when I said, that it is very possible, that one cannot be a Cypriot, unless they have some Greek in them, makes perfect sense, since blood lines are like the roots of a large tree, which had been all over the place for over 400 years. The point again is, that when you call other TC's "Greek", you should do the honorable thing, and call yourself Greek also, because there is no such thing as "converting into Greek" as you keep saying. One can convert their religion, but not their ethnicity. You are who you are, a Cypriot, no matter how much you don't like being called that. It's about time you have come to terms with it and accepted it.
