Letters from the TRNC

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Nikitas » Sun Aug 03, 2008 9:43 pm

We are filling in the time between Zan's posts with culinary nostalgia.

Anybody know the scientific (botanical) name for Louvi beans? The ones TCs call Borulce? Failing that anyone know what they call them in Greece?

I only know Real TC's and not the Fake ones that you are now seeing in the north.

I have many friends on the Forum Pinocchio, including you. We just happen to have differences of opinion regarding what is best for the TC's in Cyprus and what form of a settlement is needed, that's all.!!

You have been to Cyprus for few days now, and you think only you can speak the Turkish language.!!

To bad you don't have a Turkish Key Board for your computer, then I will be very impress with your Turkish when you use all the
ç, ü, ö and so on.!

Oh! I give in...Such wit and humour is much to good for me.......You Greeks are much better than we are at this!!!

I forgot to mention that as a younger man I hated this type of food but now I crave it and make it myself. Nothing better on a hot day. I eat too much bread with it though. I LOVE boyrulce done in this way.

Thank you Deniz. Got the name, now I will research on what it is called in Greece in its green form. YOu can get dry black eyed beans, so logically they must exist when fresh.

Deniz ,
from below link you can also listen the songs about Börülce .

http://www.truveo.com/tag/B%C3%B6r%C3%BClce

here is the one of the song words for you .

bahçelerde borulce oynar gelin görümce
oynasınlar bakalım bir araya gelince
şşt mori yeleleli yar nina nom
şşt mori yeleleli yar nina nom
bahçelerde kereviz biz kereviz yemeyiz
oğlanların yanına dikoltesiz gelmeyiz
şşt mori yeleleli yar nina nom
şşt mori yeleleli yar nina nom
bahçelerde pırasa yaprağına kar yağsa
kızlar kocasız kalsa oğlanlara yalvarsa
şşt mori yeleleli yar nina nom
şşt mori yeleleli yar nina nom

Zan ,

try to learn the words .... it is very nice song .....
