My post was a reply to Nikitas' query regarding Galatia...why did you bother copy pasting so much non related stuff?

Sorry Iceman ... history of Cyprus related to Queen Galatia of Cyprus .. all before Turks 8)

What's your precise complaint? ... too much non-Turkish related History :?

I thought,i clearly stated that name Galatia was being used before Ottomans arrived.

Yes which was the inspiration for the fuller treatment .... 8)

you are one sad individual!

You wish 8)

(You are the one with objections and instructions as to what I should post .... pathetic little fascist  )

I always assumed O liked Iceman. Imagine if they were enemies.

I doubt if there is a single TC who is not aware that the Greeks were in Cyprus before the Ottomans. Just a slight overkill, I'd say.

I wished she would open a different thread for these and include more info with the names.

my Oracle, if i may say, this is uncalled for: too much, with the signature you have now. but, your work is always a stimulus toward thought; humbly, I say.

Sorry RW :( ... but he does pick on me so, and as you can see he has a strong following ready to dig the knife in deeper on his behalf (nasty Bubbles using my name in an attempt to intimidate, in her usual underhand fashion :P ).

I just could not understand his objection, when he never complains about the reams of nonsenses halil posts ..... Oh well prejudices abound. :(

My signature is a reminder of the poem (of which it is but an extract) which so far not a SINGLE Turks-TC has condemned .... (on at least two forums  ).

Letters from the TRNC

Postby zan » Thu Jul 31, 2008 12:04 am

Thanks to all the well wishers and I think I will take your advise and write something when I get back. At least I will be able to post my photos as well.

Iceman

I will answer you on this thread if you don't mind. My sisters have sold their houses in the UK and bought (Very carefully) only TC land and or houses. They have had no help or handouts from anyone. They have nothing to fear from unification except the loss of identity and living as a minority again....I say again because we have done that in the UK all our lives. I have written before about the UK of yesterday not being the multi-cultural society of today so the hardships we faced is very real. We are not about to sign away our rights in the only place we feel equal with our own people.

Today I asked the people we met what they thought about unification and if they were all for it. Some are in Guzelyurt living in GC homes because their homes are in the South. The others are in Yesilirmak, my fathers village. what they said was that enclaves were out of the question for a start. I asked if they would be happy with a Greek government and us as a minority and they said " Eh! Biz neyik". They also said that they would never give up the guarantor of Turkey. This is the voice of those that have never left the island.

When in Girne and Lefcosa we went to eat at the Turkish cafe/restaurant, I could not help but notice the funny looks I got from these people that I had actually come to eat at their cafe when they heard my TC accent. I then started to notice that TCs did not eat at these places....Did I see it wrong? What is this utanmazlik? The TCs seem to like feeling superior. Those of us that have lived in a multi-cultural society seem to find it easier to relate. This is about governments and not about the everyday person. It is as unfair as Lena telling me that if I am nice to the GCs, if I cross over, then they will be nice to me. Thanks Lena but you could not be more insulting if you tried. My protest of not coming over is because of politics not because I hate or fear all GCs. I could care less if all the GCs moved over to the TRNC. What I want, and I believe what every TC wants , is representation and acknowledgement. It is those that think they are going to get rich by unification that are the danger and not the ones who might lose a house. They seem to want to sell their souls and their Turkishness for cash.

Anyway......I have already said more than I wanted to. Good night all. I am having a wonderful time here and have not felt this close to my home for as long as I can remember. We are starting to bloom and boom. Turkish road signs, Turkish shops and TC accents everywhere.

Always have to have your little dig don't you. So predictable - like being in a schoolyard full of 4 year olds - but there is no one else around but you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go on then, tell me what is wrong with using your name? I notice you do not complain when other people use it? Pathetic

BTW, I don't care tuppence about your signature, but I would have thought that a person like you would not have to degrade yourself with obscenities, but hey - that is obviously YOU!

Apologies Zan for interrupting your thread; but I could not let this cold, calculated and very unnecessary attack on me go unnoticed and without a reply!

deniz shines, leave it at that ...the daggers be there.
i love to laugh, and i try hard to be loving.
whatever others do is the wonder of Freewill

but our Unity is bound as Stewards, to the passed; Cyprus is an island
and the living
relics which survived sustained themselves worthy,
in our social exchange. now,
we have been isolated from each other
aggitated after 30 years of military intervention
like the two solutions will explode
something happens, when the gates are opened
colours (and textures) change
and something completely different is the result.

the poem..., aaah re OP, hyou maike me laaugh.

...but this is zan's thread and i am waiting for more
because, he is a good writer

First you say you asked people what they thought of unification then ask them how they would feel with a Greek government and us as minority....(you love playing with words don't you?) I am glad the people gave you the correct answer by telling you WE ALREADY ARE MINORITY..
I bet you were not expecting that.

No you did not see it wrong Zan...WE (your people) do not like eating in those places or mingling with those people...
I hope you got the message..
Maybe you should have your next holiday in Turkey...you definitely will feel much more at home there since you think your people in Cyprus are UTANMAZ
